There are so many ways you can get famous. It used to be just acting, music, and modeling that brought you into the public eye. But now, there's a whole new generation of famous people: YouTuber's. People who start out making silly or random videos can now make millions of dollars just from YouTube.

Some YouTube stars have even become mainstream celebrities and have made their way up to more projects in the entertainment industry and outside of YouTube and social media. YouTube stars can even develop the most passionate of fanbases! Take a look at our list of some of the most famous YouTuber's who you could maybe spot attending the same event as a Kardashian one day, if they aren't already!

10 Tana Mongeau

If you're looking for humor, messiness, glamour, and little bit of scandal, Tana Mongeau is the YouTube star you should start paying attention to. At only 20 years old, Tana managed to garner over 3.9 million subscribers to her YouTube channel.

Tana is a bit of a partier, and always has a hilarious and crazy anecdote to share on her channel. She also always has some kind of drama going on in her life! Her love life, in particular, is often the subject of gossip. She had an open, polyamorous relationship with actress Bella Thorne up until this year. Oh, and if you check out her Instagram, you'll definitely get Kardashian vibes.

9 Liza Koshy

Liza Koshy started out making short, silly videos on the now-defunct app Vine (R.I.P.) and her hilarious content often went viral. After Vine shut down, Liza made the switch to YouTube. Liza rapidly rose to fame on the platform, and she eventually had so much attention on her that she was given opportunities to enter mainstream media.

Liza got to interview Barack Obama in 2016 to encourage people to vote. She has since appeared in ads for things such as Beats by Dre headphones, which reportedly received four times the click-through rate of other promotions starring different celebrities like NFL quarterback Tom Brady. That should give you an idea of how famous she is! She now has scored acting roles for shows on Hulu and Nickelodeon and even has a part in a Tyler Perry movie.

8 Lilly Singh

You may have seen Lilly Singh's name in some headlines lately -- it was just announced that Lilly will host a new late-night show on NBC entitled A Little Late With Lilly Singh. Before she was Lilly Singh on a late-night talk show, however, she was YouTube user IISuperwomanII.

Lilly started out as a comedic channel that earned subscribers so quickly that she was able to get celebrities like Dwayne Johnson, Selena Gomez, Seth Rogen, and James Franco to appear in her videos. Lilly appeared in the film Bad Moms as well as the HBO movie Fahrenheit 451. She also wrote a New York Times bestseller. Needless to say, Lilly has evolved into much more than a YouTuber.

7 David Dobrik

David Dobrik is also a YouTube star that started out on Vine before transferring to another platform. He then founded a wildly successful group of Youtuber's called "The Vlog Squad." One member of the Vlog Squad you might recognize is Josh Peck, best known for his role as Josh on the Nickelodeon show Drake and Josh.

David has 11 million subscribers on his channel as well as 1 million listeners per episode of his podcast "Views." David is also friends with the Kardashian-Jenner family, and recently teamed up with Kylie for a video. He's clearly in an elite circle!

6 The Dolan Twins

Good-looking and identical 19-year-old twins? Nothing could be more perfect for Gen-Z fangirls. Ethan and Grayson Dolan also started out on Vine before rising to prominence on YouTube. The twins have since won two Teen Choices Awards for their videos.

The twins were hired as hosts for MTV's revival of Total Request Live (TRL). They've also participated in a worldwide tour where they met with their fans all around the globe. Some fans were so extreme that they even planned to attend their father's funeral after he died suddenly this year. Yikes!

5 Jenna Marbles

Jenna Marbles is famous, but manages to convey the personality of your average, everyday girl in her videos. She started out making videos that parodied the various scenarios a typical female goes through (like drunkenly putting on make-up or encountering creepy guys at the club) but now has settled down with her boyfriend, Julien, and typically makes hilarious videos that focus on their three adorable and ridiculous dogs.

If you keep up with the Kardashian's, you may have seen Jenna on Khloe's talk show Kocktails With Khloe. While Jenna is possibly worth millions, she's a laid-back gal at the end of the day who'd rather just put on goofy makeup and work on her podcast she shares with her boyfriend, "The Jenna and Julien Podcast."

4 Pewdiepie

If you know YouTube, you know PewDiePie. What started as a gaming channel with humorous commentary rapidly turned into a phenomenon, being one of the fastest-growing channels of all-time as well as holding the title for most subscribed YouTuber since 2013. Just a few weeks ago, the reign of PewDiePie came to an end, and he now resides at number two.

Still, 93 million subscribers ain't too shabby! PewDiePie (whose real name is Felix) has since dabbled in voice acting and, in 2016, was named as one of "The World's 100 Most Influential People" by TIME magazine. Also in 2016, Forbes named him the highest-earning YouTuber, pulling in $15 million. Who knew video games could be so profitable?

3 James Charles

Once upon a time, there was a teenager named James Charles who decided to upload some make-up tutorials on YouTube. His career took off when -- at the mere age of seventeen -- he was named the first male spokesperson for CoverGirl Cosmetics. From there, James scored multiple modeling gigs and even got to do a video with Kylie Jenner, where he did her Halloween makeup.

Most recently, James teamed up with Morphe cosmetics to create a new eye-shadow palette. James literally brought traffic to a halt when he visited one of Morphe's stores in the United Kingdom. The place was so packed with fans that some drivers opted to literally leave their cars and abandon them overnight after waiting for hours. Now that's influence!

2 Jeffree Star

Before there was James Charles, there was Jeffree Star. Jeffree first became internet famous back in the day for his outlandish fashion, makeup and music on MySpace. (Remember MySpace?!) He eventually made the switch to YouTube and started doing makeup tutorials there. He then opened up his own cosmetic company, Jeffree Star Cosmetics.

That company quickly became an empire, and now Jeffree is one of the biggest names in the make-up industry. Jeffree is worth approximately $50 million as of 2019. It just goes to show, if you stay true to yourself and let your freak flag fly, you can make it big!

1 Shane Dawson

Shane Dawson is one of the OG's of YouTube, having been uploading sketches to the site since 2007. While his previous parodies and sketches were super graphic and vulgar, Shane has seemingly strayed away from that format. He now just vlogs with his "squad" a.k.a his boyfriend and their best friends.

He really started gaining more attention after starting a series of videos that covered various conspiracy theories, however. He also has experimented with making documentaries, interviewing controversial YouTube names like Jeffree Star and Jake Paul. Now, fans are even known to host viewing parties and counting down the days until he uploads his next video. His long-time dedication to the platform has certainly paid off!
