Award season is back and that means lots of after parties! Celebrities love to get dressed up and have some fun at these sparkling events. Sometimes they are there to celebrate an award they won, while other times they're blowing off some steam because they didn’t make the cut during the awards ceremony. It's time to let their hair down in such cases. Either way, being a celebrity can be tough work so these glam events are opportunities for them to shine, to show us what they're made of - and to start some fashion trends in the process, perhaps.

20 Blake Lively At The Met Gala
Only Blake Lively could pull off an outfit like this one and still be considered one of the best-dressed women in Hollywood! She wore this outfit to the after parties that were going on after the Met Gala last year. Her outfit was a colourful plaid mini skirt teamed up with matching boots, but the style icon managed to pull it off with all the confidence in the world.
It wasn’t always that way however, as she once told Glamour UK that she wore a $13 Forever 21 dress to a premiere. She recalled,
“On the red carpet people were like ‘who are you wearing?’ But when I told them, they said I shouldn’t admit to it, like it was more impressive to have a designer gown that’s thousands of dollars. After that, I just told people it was vintage.”
19 Dakota Fanning’s Little Black Dress
Dakota Fanning has been in the industry since she was a kid so she knows how to make a look work for her. She has never been a celebratory to wear something inappropriate to an awards event. She looks amazing in this black dress and it just goes to show that she has all the class in the world. When asked to describe her style by The Telegraph she said,
“I don’t know if I can, actually. It really changes all the time. I try to throw something unexpected into my wardrobe just to keep people on their toes.”
18 Blake Lively Makes Another Great Impression
Once again, Lively looks amazing. We aren’t sure what we love most about the outfit, the stars or the slit in the dress. She has had some of the most incredible outfits over the years and her maternity wear is epic. The surprising part about Lively is that she doesn’t use a stylist. “Probably because I have control issues and a big ego—that’s probably the honest answer,” Lively joked to Glamour.
But in all seriousness, she said that styling her own outfits often lets her be more imaginative than acting can. “I love design and I love fashion, and it’s a way to be creative," she said.
17 Jessica Biel Shines In Yellow
Not everyone would choose yellow for an after-party dress but Jessica Biel looks flawless. She is another actress that grew up in the limelight for better or worse. She certainly dresses better these days than she did when she was younger.
“I wish I would’ve explored some different shapes, and not gone so sexy all the time,” she shared with ET Canada about her earlier style. “I think if you look at some of my earlier choices, maybe it didn’t need to always be about the body. I know it’s a vibe that you feel when you’re young, but still, that’s what I would’ve done a little differently.”

This is not the type of outfit for the weak at heart and not everyone would be so bold as to wear it. Blunt might be taking advice from her good friend Blake Lively, a girl whose closet she would love to raid. “Ooh, Blakey Lively's got a fabulous wardrobe,” Blunt told Elle with a glint in her eye.
But back to her outfit here. It's inspired by Mary Poppins. Blunt said,
“Mary Poppins is effortlessly stylish. But I think if I went out dressed like that every day, I would get mobbed, and also, I would stick out like a sore thumb. I'm going to go with Blake Lively...give me all of your clothes.”

It’s kind of expected that supermodels always look fantastic. They live in the world of fashion because it’s their job. Sometimes they make mistakes when it comes to fashion choices but it’s a rare moment indeed.

This full body dress is full of sparkle and it’s just the kind of dress that belongs on Diane Kruger. This actress has come a long way since we saw her in the movie, Troy. She actually started off in modelling but it wasn’t something that she could see herself sticking with long term.
“I think when you’re 15 you want to be looked at, you’re testing out your womanly boundaries,” she told Porter magazine. “The second time I saw ’60s fashion trends come around, I was like, ‘[Oh gosh] I’m done, I need to get out of here.'”

Though not technically snapped at an after-party, this picture deserves a spot on the list! It must be pretty amazing for Cindy Crawford to see her daughter, Kaia, following in her footsteps. The young girl is now building her career in the modelling industry and it will be interesting to see if she gets the same supermodel status that her mother did.
She's certainly got that x-factor that shines in photographs. Here she's at the pre-Met Gala party, looking cool and stylish, but effortlessly so. Quite a contrast from her mother's outfit, but dressed all in black, she looks super-chic.

Shay Mitchell is fairly new to the scene but she has a sense of style that is hard to believe considering her age. Jen is so into fashion that she even converted her garage into a walk-in closet at one point. Her previous husband, Justin Theroux, told Us magazine,
"We have made an extension on our house. I don’t know what [was] made into what, but we found more room to create a better bathroom and a closet. It sounds probably more elaborate than it is, but basically when we were out of town—[Jen] was working, I was working—we took that opportunity to create a little more closet space.”
1 Natalie Dormer Sparkles In Purple
We can’t say enough good things about this floor-length lavender dress. Natalie Dormer must have felt completely magical while wearing it. While it's quite simply cut, the colour and shimmer elevate it to the elegant ranks. Dormer wore this sparkly number to the Persol & BFI London Film Festival Awards Party in London.
When it comes to her sense of fashion, Dormer states that she always has to be comfortable. “Taking fashion risks for the sake of it is not how I get my buzz!” she tells Glamour.
Well, it might not have been a risk but this dress definitely paid off.
