Tom Ford showcased their spring/summer 2019 collection at New York Fashion Week, and the fashion brand's beauty department is launching yet another collection of lipsticks named after celebrities. The collection is called 'Boys & Girls', and one of those honored to have been chosen is rapper Cardi B. The shade of her lipstick is far from yet another shade of nude, this color is - much like the singer herself - bold and beautiful.
Tom Ford's previous lipstick collections have included shades named after stars like actresses Naomi Campbell and Julianne Moore, former editor-in-chief of French Vogue Carine Roitfeld, and model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, so it's safe to say Cardi B is in good company. The collection Boys & Girls is divided into two groups, where the 'Boys' lipsticks have gotten their names after famous male celebrities, and the 'Girls' from female stars. The Boys lipsticks are highly pigmented and matte, whereas the Girls lipsticks are more sheer and shimmery.
As reported by Elle, the newest additions to the Boys & Girls collection include fifteen Girls shades and fifteen Boys shades. The new lipsticks come in an array of colors and textures, ranging from pigmented mattes to shimmery metallics.
Cardi B had quite some controversy at this year's New York Fashion Week, and most people will remember the fight she had with fellow rapper Nicki Minaj as one of the, well not highlights, but main events. The news of this lipstick collaboration could not have come at a better time, as it will hopefully turn some of the attention from the embarrassing altercation. Cardi B was sitting front row at Tom Ford's fashion show, and it must have been exciting to know her name will be on one of the lipsticks in the new collection. The Cardi lipstick is a gorgeously vibrant cobalt blue, and it is definitely not for anyone who prefers a toned down, natural makeup look.
Having your name on a Tom Ford lipstick honestly means that you've truly made a name for yourself in Hollywood. After what was probably not her finest moment at New York Fashion Week, Cardi B now gets to end it with a (non-violent) bang.
