But the quickly followed up the post with one of her and her dog, but the caption seemed pretty directed towards her ex. "Kiss my dog on the forehead and then kiss ur ass goodbye,” she wrote, which is likely a reference to the Drake song ‘8 out of 10,’ which reads, "Kiss my son on the forehead then kiss your ass goodbye.”
19 She First Got Vocal On Social Media
Halsey was silent about her split with G-Easy at first. But it wasn’t before long the singer began subtly throwing shade on social media. Only weeks after their split, the singer slyly tweeted a scissors emoji, which made fans instantly think it was a reference to G-Eazy’s lyrics, “If she ever catch me cheating, she wouldn’t try to cut my [downstairs region] off.” Even more telling, Halsey tweeted the phrase “pumpkin eater,” which her followers believe references the phrase ‘cheater, cheater, pumpkin eater.’

In July of 2018, only several weeks after their split, Halsey couldn’t help but jump at the chance to mock her ex-boyfriend. G-Eazy uploaded a photo of a stage to social media with a caption featuring the saying “Big Dick Energy” and followed by a bunch of emojis. Halsey proceeded to comment “LMAO” on the post. Though the two tried to rekindle things in the fall of 2018, Halsey and G-Eazy broke up again in October. The singer was heartbroken once again. This was pretty clear when she posted lyrics from Justin Timberlake’s song ‘Cry Me A River’ online. "You don’t have to say just what you did. I already know. Back in February of 2019, Halsey made an appearance on Saturday Night Live in which she appeared to take a jab at her ex-boyfriend. During a 2017 interview with Paper magazine, Halsey criticized Demi Lovato for writing songs about same-sex relationships without being openly gay herself. "Oh, yeah. Bisexuality as taboo. 'Don't tell you mom' or 'We shouldn't do this' or 'This feels so wrong but it's so right,” Halsey, who is bisexual, said, adding, “[It’s] damaging to bisexuality and its place in society." Demi actually responded to the shade, writing to Halsey on social media, "You know a song is a hit when people are still talking about the lyrics two years later.”
9 She Isn’t Close To The Chainsmokers Anymore
Halsey was featured on one of the Chainsmokers’ most popular songs, ‘Closer.’ However, rumours have been circulating saying the singer is no longer on good terms with the band. During a September 2017 performance, Halsey completely skipped the Chainsmokers part while singing their hit. “I’m gonna skip to my part though, ok? Halsey managed to diss three people in one tweet! This past August, Billboard tweeted, "How Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello's 'Señorita' took eight songwriters and 15 months to become a hit." In response, a fan wrote, "Harry styles wrote sign of the times in 15 minutes.” But Halsey took the initiative to respond to the small account, writing, “Yeah and there's 6 writers on it. stans always wanna be so loud. Every instrumentalist and producer is considered a songwriter so unless your favourite popstar is fluent in pro tools.”

Halsey has had beef with fellow singer Iggy Azalea. In 2017, while speaking to the Guardian, she called the rapper a “moron” who has a “complete disregard for black culture. She added, "I watched her career dissolve and it fascinated me. When rapper Quavo came under fire for making homophobic comments, fans couldn’t understand if Halsey was defending or shading him. 1 Halsey Made A YouTuber Cry
Back in 2017, Halsey met popular YouTuber and vlogger Niki DeMartino at Coachella. The YouTuber had long claimed to be a Halsey fan and even had blue hair like the singer did at the time. Though Niki uploaded a cute photo them together from the festival, she later shared a video crying about her experience meeting the celeb. Long story short: Niki didn’t feel Halsey had been as nice in person as she had expected. Niki later deleted the footage.
