Unlike The Bachelor, which has an abysmal track record for actually having the contestants find love with the recipients of their final rose, The Bachelorette seems to have hit its stride, with quite a few of its eligible ladies walking away – and wedding! – the person who popped the question.
While the show isn’t without its flaws, we have to admit that we’re pretty impressed with the success it’s seen from the women who opted to be on the show, especially since they were often rejected in previous seasons and became something of fan favorites. We took a look at all 15 seasons of The Bachelorette to give you a ranking of how long each relationship ended up lasting – and some of them might be surprising!
15 Hannah Brown & Jed Wyatt: Less Than 1 Week
Oh, Hannah. The most recent Bachelorette did accept the proposal of winner Jed Wyatt, only to end things with him less than a week later – because it turned out that Wyatt still had a girlfriend while he was on the show! Brown ended up reaching out to runner-up Tyler Cameron to see if he wanted to start things up again, but that was also short-lived.
14 Emily Maynard & Jef Holm: 3 Months
Her second chance at love on the show after competing on The Bachelor was Season 8’s Maynard, who did accept Holm’s proposal. All in all, this couple lasted for about three months before calling it quits. Maynard did finally find the love she sought – with longtime friend Tyler Johnson – and has welcomed three more children. Holm is still single.
13 DeAnna Pappas & Jesse Csincsak: 4 Months
While Season 4’s DeAnna Pappas and Jesse Csincsak only stuck things out for four months, they still managed to find love within the Bachelor/Bachelorette universe. Pappas married Stephen Stagliano, twin brother to Bachelorette contestant Michael Stagliano, while Csincsak wed former Bachelor contestant Ann Lueders! Pappas has two children while Csincsak has three.
12 Andi Dorfman & Josh Murray: 5 Months
These two may have been a fan favorite, but the love of an anonymous audience didn’t translate into eternal happiness for Dorfman and Murray, who split after five months. Dorfman later wrote a book that spilled all the juicy details about her ex, including his anger problems, threats of violence, and name-calling.
11 Jillian Harris & Ed Swiderski: 1 Year
The first on our list to make it to the one-year mark, we have this couple from Season 5. Amid rumors of infidelity, Harris was the one to pull the plug, later telling PopSugar, “Ed wasn’t honest, he wasn’t close with his family, he wasn’t close with my family or my friends. He didn’t have the same values I did, he wasn’t patient, he wasn’t sweet.”
10 Meredith Phillips & Ian McKee: 1 Year
Proving that occasionally a breakup doesn’t have to be filled with the kind of drama we’ve come to expect from reality TV, Phillips and McKee of Season 2 lasted for about a year before they amicably parted ways. Phillips ended up marrying her high school sweetheart, but, during the #MeToo movement, admitted that she suffered an assault behind the scenes of the show.
9 Ali Fedotowsky & Roberto Martinez: 1 Year, 3 Months
These two tried to make it work long after the cameras stopped rolling, calling time after about 15 months together. There wasn’t a whole lot of drama to be had in the end of the relationship, and Fedotowsky has since married TV and radio host Kevin Manno and had two children, while Martinez is a State Farm agent in Colorado.
8 Becca Kufrin & Garrett Yrigoyen: 15 Months+
One of the most recent Bachelorettes, Kufrin surprised everyone by sticking with Garrett Yrigoyen even after all of his social media dirty laundry was aired for the public to judge. It’s been about 15 months since the finale aired and, while no wedding date has yet been set for the couple, they are still happily engaged.
7 Rachel Lindsay & Bryan Abasolo: 2+ Years
The first Black Bachelorette in the season’s 15 seasons was attorney Rachel Lindsay, who ended up accepting the proposal of Bryan Abasolo – and making it all the way down the aisle! While audiences wanted her to choose runner-up Peter Kraus, Abasolo was the lucky guy and the two tied the knot on August 24, 2019.
6 Kaitlyn Bristowe & Shawn Booth: 3 Years, 2 Months
Unfortunately, sometimes even long-term relationships don’t pan out into a happily ever after. While fans were rooting for Season 11’s Bristowe and Booth to make it (especially because she ditched Nick Viall for him), the couple didn’t end up lasting. After more than three years together, they announced their split in November 2018. Bristowe has since found love with Bachelorette contestant Jason Tartick.
5 JoJo Fletcher & Jordan Rodgers: 3+ Years
It’s difficult for contestants to form a solid relationship on The Bachelorette, even if the finales end with a proposal, which is why we totally get Fletcher and Rodgers’ decision to be engaged for over 3 years without actually making wedding plans. The couple is still happily together and living in Fletcher’s Dallas home.
4 Desiree Hartsock & Chris Siegfried: 6+ Years
The first Bachelorette success story on our list to make things a family affair belongs to Season 9’s Hartsock and Siegfried. The pair tied the knot in a private ceremony back in January 2015 and have since welcomed two sons, Asher and Zander. They also released a book of poetry together, titled Diamonds and Hearts – A Poetic Memoir.
3 Ashley Hebert & J.P. Rosenbaum: 8+ Years
Hebert and Rosenbaum from Season 7 are still together, more than eight years later! These two had a televised wedding ceremony in 2012 and have had two children since, a son and a daughter named Fordham and Essex. They’re active on social media and regularly share snapshots of their very normal-looking family life!
2 Trista Rehn & Ryan Sutter: 16+ Years
The OG Bachelorette was also the woman to start the trend of successful relationships once the cameras stopped rolling. Season 1’s Rehn said, “yes” to winner Ryan Sutter all the way back in 2003 and have been together ever since! Like Hebert and Rosenbaum, they wed on TV and have since had two children together.
1 Jen Schefft & No One: N/A
Acting as Brad Womack before Womack was even The Bachelor, Season 3’s Bachelorette Jen Schefft opted to walk away with no one rather than choose either of her two final guys, Jerry Ferris and John Paul Merritt. However, it wasn’t like Schefft never found love: in 2009, she wed businessman Joe Waterman and it now a stay-at-home mom to two girls!
