23 Hailie Mathers Is A Daddy’s Girl

It goes without saying that Hailie Mathers is a daddy’s girl. When asked if she was close to her father, she told People magazine, “Of course, we are very close.” Back in the '90s it was a lot easier for a celebrity to have a private life but now with social media, it’s almost impossible. We knew about Hailie because of the songs that her dad wrote about her.

In high school, she was once asked who the most influential people in her life were. As E! News reports, she said, "My mother and father because they have pushed me to be the person I am and have given me all the support to achieve what I have."

22 She Was Added To The Guinness Book Of World Records

You might ask yourself how on earth she managed to get in the Guinness Book Of World Records. Well, one day Eminem decided to take Hailie to the recording studio with him and she ended up on one of his albums. She had a one-liner in his song called "My Dad’s Gone Crazy" and because of that she was added to the Guinness Book Of World Records as “Youngest R&B chart entrant.”

She was only six years old at the time when the song debuted in 2002! It’s quite the accomplishment for a little girl.

21 Kim Mathers Had No Idea That Eminem Recorded Hailie

Marshall Mathers always had a topsy-turvy relationship with Kim Mathers so it was no wonder that he didn’t tell her that he was taking Hailie to the recording studio with him. Not only can Hailie be heard on the song "My Dad’s Gone Crazy" but she can also be heard on "97 Bonnie And Clyde." Eminem told Rolling Stone about the experience, saying,

"I lied to Kim and told her I was taking Hailie to Chuck E. Cheese that day. But I took her to the studio. When she found out I used our daughter to write a song about... her, she (…) blew. We had just got back together for a couple of weeks. Then I played her the song, and she bugged…out."

20 She Was A Bold Kid

Hailie Mathers clearly influenced a lot of her father’s work because he was trying to give her a better life than he and his high school sweetheart had. The song "My Dad’s Gone Crazy" was created because of something that Hailie had said in the recording studio.

"That's my little girl, you know she's goofy too," Eminem said, as The List reports. "One day we were in the studio doing a song and she was like 'Somebody help me, I think my dad's gone crazy.' I said, 'Hailie what did you say?' She said it again and then said 'Daddy I want to do it on the mic.' I said, 'OK.' I got her in the booth."

19 She Was Famous Before She Could Speak

Due to the fact that Eminem rapped about his daughter, she was famous long before she could even talk. One particular song that he wrote about his daughter called "Castle" was all about his approach to fatherhood. The song was written in the form of annual letters to Hailie. Most kids wouldn’t want their father to air all the family business for the world to know but Hailie seems to have taken it in her stride.

17 She Has A Degree In Psychology

Hailie is a smart girl who has done well in school. She didn’t just sit around and live off her father’s money. She went to college to get a psychology degree. She is keeping her options open right now because she is still so young. She’s not sure where she wants her career path to lead her.

She attended Michigan State University which allowed her to keep a low profile. You would think she would head off to California but currently both her parents live in Michigan so it made sense for her to study there. Eminem has a mansion in Clinton Township, Michigan where he has lived for years.

Eminem may not have had any more biological children but that didn’t stop him from helping two girls who needed a home. Eminem has his own blended family that now includes a biological child to Dawn Scott, Kim’s sister. Many celebrities with millions of dollars will send their children to an elite private school but that wasn’t the case for Hailie. It has always been important to Eminem for Hailie to have as normal a life as possible. She went to a public school in Michigan just like he did growing up. She went to school under the name Scott (her mother’s maiden name), probably to give her more privacy.

As The List reports, one parent from the school told the local newspaper, "I think all of the kids in the district have shown respect to their family and just let her live a normal life here out of the spotlight."

Hailie is known to be one smart cookie. She didn’t take the wrong road, the way her mother did in high school. Hailie didn’t fool around when it came to getting good grades, and she was always a top student. She graduated summa cum laude and had a grade point average of 3.9 when she studied at Chippewa Valley High School.

9 She Has Been Catfished A Few Times Online

A Twitter account with the handle @Angry_Blonde showed up in 2011 and it claimed it was the account of Hailie Mathers, Eminem’s daughter. The account doled out a healthy dose of advice like, "Good guys are found in every corner of the earth, but unfortunately the earth has no corners," as well as repeatedly tried to get the attention of Chris Brown.

Eminem’s rep Dennis Deeney was the one that put a stop to it. He told E! News, "This account is a fake and Hailie has no Twitter account at all."

It’s not the first account that has pretended to be Hailie Mathers. One account called @hailiejade_x tried to start a fight with Taylor Swift by tweeting offensive posts directed at the singer.

8 She Loves Sharing Pictures Of Her Favorite Dog

Hailie loves her dog and wants to share her with the world. She likes to share photos of Lottie on her social media pages. If you love puppies, then you are sure to love the slideshows that she posts about her favorite dog. When National Puppy Day came around, she made sure that she had a post for her puppy with the caption, "Happy #nationalpuppyday from the sassiest pup around."

Sometimes her puppy will photobomb her photos and she has no problem with that. It’s clear that Lottie has a special place in her heart.

7 There Was No Profanity In Her House

Considering some of Eminem’s songs, you would think that this might be impossible for Eminem but he has a "no swearing" policy in his home. During an interview with 60 Minutes, Eminem was asked whether he felt responsible for the effect that his music has on kids. He said,

"I feel like it's your job to parent them. If you're the parent, be a parent. You know what I mean? I'm a parent. I have daughters. I mean, how would I really sound, as a person, like, walkin' around my house, you know, '(…) pick this up.' You know what I mean? Like, I don't cuss." He elaborated, "Profanity around my house, no. But this is music, this is my art, this is what I do."

6 Machine Gun Kelly Got Banned For Commenting About Her

Machine Gun Kelly and Eminem have certainly had their beef in the media and it probably all started when MGK started commenting about the physical attractiveness of Eminem’s daughter. He tweeted, "Ok so I just saw a picture of Eminem's daughter…and I have to say, she is (…), in the most respectful way possible cuz EM is king."

Of course, the tweet did not go over well with Eminem and he got MGK blacklisted from radio stations. MGK said, as Vibe reports, “Certain people won't even listen or review [my album]. Certain places, you won't even hear Machine Gun Kelly on. Certain things won't even happen.”

5 She Wants Her Privacy To Be Respected

Her father may be a celebrity but Hailie doesn’t like the idea of being thrown into the spotlight. Regardless of what career she dreams of chasing, she wants her privacy to be respected. Even Eminem has been hesitant over the years to talk about his children or their personal lives. He just wants to be there for them as much as he can.

He told Rolling Stone that for him parenting has been "just being there. Not missing things. If there's anything important going on, regardless of what it is, I'm there. Helping them with homework when you can. At the grades my older ones are in, it's hard. I never even passed ninth grade. They're already way smarter than me."

4 Eminem Apologized To Her

Eminem has discussed his daughter and her mother a lot in his songs and that’s just part of his art. He dedicated the song "Castle" to Hailie and it’s about how guilty he feels for making her the subject of so many of his songs.

In the song he raps, "I've said your name but always tried to hide your face. This game is crazy, I wanted to claim my love for you but dang I never knew it'd be like this, if I did I wouldn't have done it. You ain't asked for none of this (…), now you're being punished? Things that should've been private with me and your mother [are] public. I can't stomach, they can take this fame back, I don't want it."

3 She Spends A Lot Of Time In Detroit, Michigan

Living in Detroit, Michigan allows Hailie to have a sense of normalcy that she would never have in a bigger city like Los Angeles, and that’s very important to Eminem. She no longer lives with her father but has her own four-bedroom home not far from where her father lives, and that keeps them close.

Her whole family is in the area, including her sisters and her mom, so she is never far from the people that she loves. Of course, her boyfriend Evan also lives in the same area.

2 Her Parents Never Stayed Together

Eminem and Kim Mathers have had their ups and downs over the years and they were married twice to each other. They also got divorced twice. They haven’t been together since 2006 and that’s probably a good thing. He has written numerous songs about Kim and their turbulent relationship, but he also wrote one called "Bad Husband" in which he apologizes to Kim for any pain that he may have caused her:

1 Eminem Credits All His Success To Her

Eminem has given his whole career to Hailie and tried to make her life better because of it. He claims that his success is all because of her. In an interview with Rolling Stone, he stated,

"[Hailie] has been my main, like, source of drive and motivation, especially when she was first born and I didn't have a career, I didn't have money, I didn't have a place to live. So I think that really kicked me in the (…) harder than anything... knowing that, and like, how I'm gonna raise her."
