Kim Kardashian West’s KKW Beauty has just announced a collaboration with Canadian supermodel Winnie Harlow. The makeup line, KKW x Winnie, will undoubtedly focus on Harlow’s impact on the world of fashion where she has challenged and redefined traditional standards of beauty.
Harlow, 25, was first discovered by America's Next Top Model host Tyra Banks on Instagram. She went on to participate in the reality show where she became one of the fourteen finalists of the twenty-first season in 2014. The model, who is of Jamaican ancestry, was diagnosed with the chronic skin condition vitiligo, which is characterized by depigmentation of certain areas of the skin, at the age of four.
Growing up, Harlow endured bullying by other children, who called her a "cow, zebra, and all manner of other disparaging slurs." The abuse led her to change school several times. She eventually dropped out of high school and even contemplated suicide. After ANTM, she became the face of the Spanish clothing brand Desigual. She has since been featured on the Spanish and Italian editions of Glamour magazine, Cosmopolitan, and Vogue Italia, among other publications. In addition, she was featured in a campaign for Swarovski and modeled at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show last year.
The new KKW x Winnie collection will include a 12-pan eye shadow palette with three mattes and nine shimmery metallics that will retail for $49, a $26 highlighter duo that features a lighter pigment on the top and a deeper pigment on the bottom for darker and lighter skin tones, and three glitter-infused lip glosses: a nude, rose, and brown. The glosses can be purchased as a bundle for $42, or separately for $18 each. The entire KKW Beauty x Winnie collection will also be sold for $142.
After announcing the collaboration, Kardashian announced on Instagram, "Winnie Harlow is someone I admire and respect so much. She's the definition of a true beauty." This is the first beauty line for Harlow, though she did star in MAC's 25th anniversary ‘Viva Glam' ads earlier this year.

On Instagram, the model wrote, "I'm so excited to announce my new KKW X WINNIE Collection!!! Thank you @kimkardashian for allowing me to be free in my creativity. Thank you for calling me and asking my opinion on everything to do with this collaboration."
The collection will be available on kkwbeauty.com at 12 p.m. PST on September 13.
