Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas are still going through with their initial idea of a summer wedding in Europe. The young couple has talked about their plans on a wedding in Europe in several interviews, so it came as a big surprise when they unexpectedly tied the knot in Las Vegas earlier this week. The Game Of Thrones actress and her singing beau took the opportunity to get married while already being in Las Vegas for the Billboard Music Awards, and had apparently received their marriage license earlier the same day. They rented out the Chapel L’Amour inside A Little White Wedding Chapel for several hours so that they could easily show up at a time convenient to them.

At the impromptu ceremony were also Joe's brothers Nick and Kevin Jonas, musicians Diplo and singer Khalid, and the country duo Dan + Shay who also performed as Sophie walked down the aisle. No Vegas wedding would be complete without an Elvis impersonator as the wedding officiant, and the newlyweds posed for a photo with theirs and Joe's brothers who were also the groomsmen.

As reported by People, the reason for the surprise Vegas wedding was to make it legal in the United States before going through with their planned Europe wedding later this summer. Joe has said in interviews that the wedding will take place in France and that the couple already has most of the planning and organizing figured out.

Sophie, who plays Sansa on Game Of Thrones, has shared that she has asked her GoT sister Ariya, played by Maisie Williams, to be her maid of honor since the two actresses have become close friends. According to Sophie, they want their wedding to be small and personal and are aiming to keep it an intimate affair, quite the opposite of Nick Jonas three-day-long wedding with Priyanka Chopra last year.

As surprising as Joe and Sophie's Vegas wedding was, many people suspected that they would still be going through with their long-standing plans on a more traditional wedding ceremony as well. A summer wedding in France can only be beautiful, and it is safe to say everyone is even more excited to see the photos from the upcoming second nuptials now.
