While there are various kinds of celebrity couples, two relationship styles stand out: those that keep their love life on the DL and those that arguably give us too much information.

Being a celebrity means having your private life constantly exposed everywhere, heightened by the accessibility of social media and its reach to such a vast audience. Despite this fact, celebs do retain a certain amount of power over what gets publicized and what doesn't.

Relationships, for example, tend to grab public attention more than anything else. And they can be tricky to balance, especially between two potentially different personas who likely have altering image strategies.

Some celebrities have learned the hard way that telling the world every explicit detail means losing their SO.

There are the celebrities, however, who don’t have a care in the world and are more than happy to put everything on stage. And that can really work positively in their favor... sometimes.

Check out these 10 celeb couples who keep their relationship on the DL and 10 who are too public.

20 Share Too Much: Dax Shepard And Kristen Bell

This eccentric couple is definitely in love and has no problem showing it.

They're self-proclaimed over-sharers, while on Jimmy Kimmel, Kristen Bell revealed:

"We are people that like embarrassment. I think it makes everything a little lighter and brighter when you can be cool about your embarrassing stories. There are very few things I think that I'd ever say, 'Oh, please don't tell that story.'"

And they're not kidding either. We've seen Kristen rocking hospital gowns mid-labor on Shepard's Instagram story, and heard both of them squabble on his podcast Armchair Expert.

Hide nothing and you'll have nothing to hide!

19 Private: Emily Ratajkowski And Sebastian Bear McClard

These two have always been tight-lipped about their relationship, so much so, that the world had no idea they were getting married until ten days before.

They hadn't been together for very long so naturally, nobody saw it coming. But public backlash had Ratajkowski speaking up in a Marie Claire interview:

"People came after my marriage, like, ‘Wow. I give it three weeks.’ I’m like, ‘What?’" she said in an interview with Marie Claire. "No one can take women seriously on any choices that they make, especially if they’re unique to them and they don’t play into the way we think women should get married. It’s a constant writing-off."

18 Share Too Much: Olivia Wilde And Jason Sudeikis

It was actually surprising to us how much Olivia and Jason share about their relationship. It’s to the point now where it’s cringe-worthy. Wilde talked at a Glamour-sponsored talk in 2012 and discussed her first marriage to Tao Ruspoli saying, "I felt like my vagina died. Turned off. Lights out. You can lie to your relatives at Christmas dinner and tell them everything on the home front is just peachy, but you cannot lie to [yourself]." Apparently, that’s not the case with her current partner Jason Sudeikis who says they are pretty affectionate with each other.

17 Private: Marcus Mumford And Carey Mulligan

This Great Gatsby actress is determined to keep her marriage to Marcus Mumford under wraps.

Apart from keeping her pregnancy announcement secret from the world up until the very end, Mulligan has articulated why seclusion is so important to her:

“Marcus is the only thing that’s mine that I can keep totally away, so I try to,” she said in a 2015 interview. She's doing a pretty good job so far if you ask us.

16 Share Too Much: David And Victoria Beckham

These two are so inseparable that we sometimes forget they're individual celebrities. Combined, this power couple has occupied the world of sports, music and for the last decade, high fashion. They share everything with one another and have always been open about their personal struggles, in marriage and in fame.

David Beckham told Entertainment Tonight in January of 2017:

"We know each other better than anybody. People have talked about, 'Do we stay together because it's a brand?' Of course not. We stay together because we love each other because we have four amazing children. … Do you go through tough times? Of course. That's part of relationships. It's part of marriages. It's part of having children. It's part of having responsibilities."

15 Private: Eva Mendes And Ryan Gosling

Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling keep it so down low that sometimes its hard to remember Gosling isn't dating Emma Stone.

Gosling has publicly gushed about how awesome Stone is,  but we rarely hear anything about Mendes unless it’s in an Oscars speech.

Meanwhile, they share two children and live together.

"It's heaven," he shared. It's like walking through a field of flowers every day. I live with angels."

Quality, not quantity right?

14 Share Too Much: Kim Kardashian And Kanye West

Kim Kardashian is the queen of life in the public eye. If her Instagram posts aren't evidence enough, check out her family's reality TV show.

That's why no one was surprised when she married Kanye West, a kindred attention lover.

She has since admitted that it can be tough: "All I want is privacy. I never thought that I would be at that point."

In an interview with Alec Baldwin, she explained:

Now it's [like] where can I go on vacation where nobody will see us?'"

13 Private: Katie Holmes And Jamie Foxx

Foxx and Holmes may have mastered secrecy better than anyone else.

Perhaps it has something to do with a non compete clause in her divorce agreement with Tom Cruise, which stipulates that the Dawson's Creek star can't date anyone publicly for five years.

They've been together since 2013, so we're anxious to see if things will heat up in year six. Our guess is this couple likes to stay out of the limelight; they're definitely used to it!

12 Share Too Much: Kelly Ripa And Mark Consuelos

Kelly Ripa loves talking about her love life even though she has been married to the same man for a hundred years.

She gushed to Andy Cohen during an interview in 2014:

"We just like each other a lot. I love my husband. I think he's awesome. We've been together a really long time. We try to do spicy things together all the time."

11 Private: Taylor Swift And Joe Alwyn

Considering how public Taylor Swift normally is about her relationships-both inside and outside of her music, it's curious that we have rarely seen her out with boyfriend, Joe Alwyn.

The two have been dating for over a year now and we have rarely seen them together. They spend a lot of time hiding out at Alwyn’s London home and vacationing across the Atlantic together. Hmm. Very unlike Swift.

Maybe she's found the one? We'll keep an eye on any upcoming lyrics to be sure.

10 Shares Too Much: Chrissy Teigen And John Legend

Chrissy Teigen loves to talk about her relationship with John Legend and isn't shy about revealing how they met. In an interview with Cosmopolitan, she dished

"I'm not going to lie. We hooked up [when we first met on the set of his 'Stereo' video]."

"I let him be himself for a while," she says. "The worst thing you can do is try to lock someone like that down early on, then have them think, There's so much more out there. I played it cool for a long time. Never once did I ask, 'What are we?' Marriage was never my goal because I've never been very traditional. I was just happy to be with him."

9 Private: Tom Ackerley And Margot Robbie

Hearts broke all over the world when Margot Robbie was taken off the market by Tom Ackerley.

Despite the fact that Robbie is clearly in love, she doesn’t do a lot of talking about her relationship. There are also very few pictures of the couple on Instagram. Even in the beginning, they kept things on the down low.

“We kept it a secret. Because we weren't really taking it seriously. ‘Oh, whatever, we're just mates, we're just mates.’ And then… everyone found out.”

8 Shares Too Much: Amy Schumer And Chris Fischer

Happily married and expecting a child in 2019, this couple loves to overshare.  They're both guilty of talking about each other all the time.

"Things were just really easy with him," Schumer told People in August 2016. "There were no games, no waiting three days. It was clear and easy. He was so sweet. He didn't know who I was. He'd heard my name."

On a guest appearance on Ellen, Schumer graphically described a time when she and Chris got food poisoning together.

That's...err sweet Amy, but there are just some things we don’t need to know.

7 Private: Cole Sprouse And Lili Reinhart

Obviously, these two Riverdale co-stars are adorable, both separately and together.

Not only are they playing love interests on the show but in real life as well, which has sparked an even deeper obsession among fans.

But to the dismay of their teenage passe, both stars are insanely private about their relationship; in fact, Reinhart often snaps back when others bring it up.

She has repeatedly defended herself on Twitter when fans implied she wasn't "good enough" for Cole.

6 Shares Too Much: Michael Douglas And Catherine Zeta-Jones

For a guy of his age, he has really put out a lot of personal details about his marriage to his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones. It's the kind of details that would make your mother uncomfortable if you said them out loud. For some reason, there are celebrity couples who have no problem throwing out personal details when in reality it's TMI. He also spoke in great detail about his throat cancer to The Guardian and later stated that he regretted doing so. Unfortunately for celebrities they typically learn teh hard way when they have said to much in public.

5 Private: Daniel Craig And Rachel Weisz

It took us a long time to even put it together that these two were partners.

They met and fell in love during the filming of Dream House and have been united ever since.

It’s rare that they will share their relationship details with the world, and that may be why they have happily survived for so long.

Both actors have tasted superstardom, especially Craig with his character as James Bond. Weisz stated to More magazine that she keeps her relationship quiet because of that. “It would be a betrayal," she said. "You have to protect your marriage.”

4 Shares Too Much: Jenny McCarthy And Donnie Wahlberg

Any couple with a reality TV show has no qualms about getting up close and personal. Jenny McCarthy has had no problem whatsoever about talking about her man in public and that can get her in some trouble. That's likely why she didn't see any problem with having a reality show about their lives. These two will shout it from the rooftop that they are happily married in more ways than one. On top of that, both actors are loud, funny and happy to divulge their secrets on talk shows.

3 Private: Meryl Streep and Don Gummer

Sometimes it’s hard to remember that the iconic Meryl Streep has a life outside her Oscar-worthy acting career.

She rarely talks about her husband and family in interviews and avoids being photographed with them as well.

Despite isolating him from photo ops, she has been with her husband, Don Gummer since 1978 and the two share one of those and exceptional Hollywood marriages that have lasted years.

Gummer will occasionally accompany her to premieres, but details of their relationship stay hidden.

2 Shares Too Much: Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello

When it comes to Joe and Sofia, they have no problem with talking each other up all the time. He told Entertainment Tonight how he knew that Sofia was the one for him.

"We realized very early on that we each had to put the other person's happiness and well-being ahead of our own,"

he told the magazine. "Once you realize that kind of trust has manifested, you hang on for dear life. Or in my case, you go and buy a ring." She absolutely feels the same way about him. "We even talk to each other all the time in this little voice that we made up, like a couple of dorks. Whoever heard us, would say, 'What's their problem?'"

1 Private: Justin Timberlake And Jessica Biel

Jessica Biel has talked about “protecting” her relationship with Justin Timberlake and how she likes to have normal date nights with him. She’s not one to divulge intimate details about their lives. “We’re lucky enough to go and stay in different places and live in different places while we work and that’s definitely part [of having a strong marriage],” she told Savannah Guthrie. “But, honestly, I just really feel like you have to work hard,” Biel shared. “That doesn’t change if you work at home or in an office or you’re on a tour. It doesn’t change, the work doesn’t change.”
