Tennis star Serena Williams was recently interviewed with People at an event for her new clothing line and took the opportunity to share some friendly advice to long-time BFF Meghan Markle. The athlete shared some insight on her friendship with the Duchess of Sussex, and also shed a bit of light on how Meghan is as a friend. As with any celebrity, there have been a lot of rumors surrounding Meghan and her personality, but Serena being a close friend and all, this should most likely be an accurate perception.
According to Serena, Meghan is too nice and need to stop being so overly polite all the time. Perhaps not the worst flaw one can have, but Serena explained how Meghan responded with "no, how are YOU?" when Serena asked her how she was doing.
As reported by Cosmopolitan, there have been a lot of reports saying that Meghan is difficult to work with and that she has become known to be demanding with the staff at Kensington Palace where she is currently living with Prince Harry. There have also been rumors about an alleged feud between Meghan and Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, but given the fact that the two will both be attending the Queen's Christmas celebrations at Sandringham, surely it can not be any bad blood between the two Duchesses.
Meghan Markle and Serena Williams have been friends for a long time, and Serena was of course invited to Meghan and Prince Harry's wedding earlier this year. The tennis pro was in good company as other famous guests were Robbie Williams, Priyanka Chopra, Oprah Winfrey, David and Victoria Beckham, and Cara Delevingne to name a few. Meghan and Serena met at the Super Bowl in 2010 and instantly became good friends. Four years later at the 2014 Super Bowl, they were both participating in the Celebrity Beach Bowl.
Since Meghan moved to London, the two friends have for obvious reasons not have had as much opportunity to spend time together, but they did manage to squeeze a double date into their busy schedules this summer. A Duchess and a tennis pro might sound like an unexpected friendship, but they do make a powerful pair!
