Selena Gomez. Singer. Actress. Former "Barney" star. Shoe designer. Didn't see that last one coming? Then you must not have been paying close attention to her social media posts. Gomez, a Puma ambassador, says that she is a huge fan of sneakers and loves to wear them with all kinds of outfits.
She designed her sneaker, "The Phenom Lux training shoe", which is completely white except for a gold ankle chain that she added because it was something she often wore as a child and she wanted to incorporate some nostalgia into her design.
Pop Sugar quoted Gomez when she told Vogue magazine, "It has that chain that makes me feel womanly and makes me feel cool. It gives you a little bit of sparkle, and it can make you feel like you're dressed up even when you're in sweats."
Gomez didn't stop with shoes, though. She turned the sock world on its head when she designed Puma's new "windowpane" sheer socks that compliment her new shoes perfectly. The shoes will set you back $110 and the socks will cost $14 when they are available on April 6th.
Because Gomez is living with the autoimmune disease Lupus, Puma has pledged to donate $100,000 of the profits received from Gomez's shoes and socks to the Lupus Research Alliance. The singer made headlines last summer when her best friend, "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" actress Francia Raisa, donated a kidney to Gomez due to the effects of lupus.
