Shades of red and pink stole the spotlight at this year’s Venice Film Festival. The stars came out in a sea of reddish hues, including Lady Gaga, who wowed fans with a shaggy pink Valentino Couture gown at the premiere of the eagerly-awaited A Star Is Born remake, produced and directed by Bradley Cooper, in his directorial debut. The film has already received a five-star review from The Guardian, which praises Gaga’s "mesmerizing" performance.
Also in pink with a red cape was the Queen herself, Claire Foy from Netflix’s The Crown, who also wore Valentino Couture, though, not surprisingly, much more understatedly than Gaga. Foy stars in First Man, which also premiered at the festival, with Ryan Gosling.
Naomi Watts, who this year sits on the festival jury, also turned heads in a pleated fuschia dress that highlighted her slim figure. The dress is part of Amani Privé’s 2018 couture collection. Of her experience as a judge, Watts said, "To sit in a disciplined way and spend the next 10 days watching two to three films a day is extraordinary and I have just never had that opportunity."

Also, model and actress Gabriella Wilde went for a luscious red strapless gown by Ulyana Sergeenko Couture for the First Man premiere. She paired the dress with very simple earrings and a Jaeger-LeCoultre watch.
The red tones seemed perfect for an end of summer affair as a last goodbye to the warm weather. According to at Vogue Arabia writer Noor ul Sabah, "After a summer filled with zesty yellows and oranges, hot pink seems to be the color du jour as we move into Fall 2018."
Though don't expect pink to take a backseat this autumn. The color was very present in the Fall 2018 collections of Tod's, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana and Tommy Hilfiger.
