Besides her songs, when people think of Rihanna these days, a lot of it has to do with how she's opened up the body-inclusive market with her wide array of sizes in her Savage x Fenty line. That said, while she's understandably proud of how the wardrobe rollout is going, one thing you won't expect to see her wearing on any public street is any slinky item that bears her name.

But she's been turning heads wearing what might be the most down-home of material that runs counter to her high profile image. Denim. Yep, this fabric has been seen on one of the most celebrated fashion movers and shakers on the planet.

By all accounts she was rocking that denim rather nicely, part of the Ben Taverniti-Unravel Project line that came out. In this case, it was a skirt designed in two layers. First was the upper hip-hugger portion remaining intact for about six or so inches, with the white inside layers of the front pockets hanging out underneath. Then the second layer was the denim skirt itself. Capping off the outfit was a white, long-sleeved Helmut Lang top, with shoes by Gianvito Ross. As for accessories, her Balenciaga handbag completed her look.

In short, the getup was both classy, but could be commonly accessible if one opts for more affordable pieces. There might not be too many surprises out there in fashionistaland that this becomes the big trend this summer. It's not the first time she's had a fashion flirtation with the material. She wore torn jeans with a dreadlock look last year, and even wore a denim shirt over her lingerie for publicity images earlier in 2018.

But then, Rihanna's long had a reputation for jumping onto fashion trends. She's also never been afraid to be outrageous, such as the time she showed up at a posh affair with a sheer dress made up of nothing but sparkles. Another time, she wore a white dress to the Billboard Awards that had a skinny halter-top design, offering plenty of skin on the side. And who could forget the spiked corset she had on at the American Music Awards?

As for what material she'll rock next time, all bets are off.
