Any makeup guru or makeup artist has MAC in their stash somewhere. Some of them even exclusively only use MAC products because they are a staple among everyone in the makeup world.
While MAC has it's "regular stuff" that we all love to stockpile, there are always those fun collections that come out as a novelty. MAC makes them in limited editions that you can only buy for a short amount of time before they disappear into thin air. You feel extra special if you get your paws on those limited edition MAC collections. Once they do sell out, you can try to salvage what you can on eBay.
Though MAC has been around since 1984, the launches consistently surprise and excite the company's millions of fans, according to PopSugar. MAC is so popular that there should seriously be a support group for MAC makeup collectors. From the Barbie Collection to Venomous Villians, there is not one collection that makeup fanatics have not lusted after throughout the years. From celebrity names to cartoon character mashups, we just can't seem to get enough.
These incredible collaborations go down in makeup history. Though it's a tough process to narrow down which collections have been the most popular, we have managed to round up the best of the best.
25 MAC Selena Makeup Collection, Fall 2016

The collection used neon colors and bold hues to commemorate one of the longest-running cartoon shows of all time. Each of the names of the items in the collection was named after The Simpsons female characters and episodes, such as Lisa's Spikes (eyeshadow), Beehive Blue (eyeshadow), and Marge Simpson's Cutie-cles (nail stickers).

10 MAC x Brooke Shields Collection, Fall 2014

It was a fairly small collection with beautiful Asiatic themes to celebrate the Year of the Snake.
The Freckletone shade of lipstick was embedded with a snake coiled around it staying true to the new year. It was a subtle, light peachy color that erred on the more natural side. The eyeshadows were deep shimmery gem colors that made it sleek and slithery...just like a snake.

Though we are kind of surprised that Elle Fanning (or at least an Elle Fanning lookalike) was not the face for this collection, it looked magical nonetheless. All products are transformed in specially designed pearlized light lavender blue packaging that could rival the most regal of gowns, according to MAC Cosmetics.
5 MAC x Lorde Collection, Summer 2014

Even though we will never be royals, Lorde got royal status after becoming the face for MAC.
The packaging stayed the same as it always is because Lorde has more of a minimalist style, so there was no need to go over-the-top. The deep purple lipstick is something that only a few girls have the guts to try.
