Queen Letizia has never been shy about her love of Zara. The Spanish royalty has paid tribute to the Spanish brand on many a formal occasion. And she recently brought a fab calf-length gold skirt by Zara to our attention.

Letizia looked her chicest in a pleated metallic thread skirt, which she dressed down with pointy black boots, an unfussy black top and a long black overcoat that was draped over her shoulders. The princess-approved skirt is currently almost sold out, with size XS being still available. So ladies hurry up!

Even though the Spanish fashion icon has been known to rock a high-street look, everybody agreed this ensemble had something that screamed Duchess of Sussex. For starters, Meghan’s most memorable appearances involve her trademark midi skirts. From the elegant all-black pleated skirt that she donned at the launch of her cookbook to the exquisite royal blue Givenchy skirt that gave her a famous “Diana moment”, the Duchess has a love affair with calf-length hemlines.

Harper’s Bazaar couldn’t help but notice the obvious: Letizia’s Zara skirt was a noticeable style cue to Meghan’s see-through Givenchy skirt. It was styled in a Meghan-approved way, and let’s not forget that Letizia’s hair (just like Meghan’s) was also pulled back in a soft updo. In short, Letizia’s outfit was something that Meghan would totally wear!

What’s more, Meghan, just like Letizia, isn’t afraid to experiment with high-street brands. And pleated skirts aside, the Spanish Queen has been caught taking more Meghan Markle fashion tips. Letizia recently wore a figure-hugging tux black jumpsuit, that according to royal watchers and Hello Magazine channeled the Duchess of Sussex.

Comparing Letizia to Meghan may cause some eyes to roll (trust us, we know), considering that the former has been on our fashion radar for way much longer. Also, to be fair, Zara is a brand that is endorsed more by the Duchess of Cambridge. Kate has a closet full of Zara items, ranging from skinny jeans to blazers and floral mini dresses.

But Meghan has been making fashion waves so strong that we just need to find her a worthy fashion rival, and Letizia is perfect, don't you think?
