Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not have a prenuptial agreement and the reason why will surprise you.
Less than two months until their big day, but there is one thing the royal couple does not have to worry about -- a prenup. Even though they have a serious amount of assets between the two of them, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will go into their marriage with no legal protection for those assets.
However, the reason behind why the couple has decided to forgo a very popular marriage ritual in the United States is because in the United Kingdom prenups do not hold up in court. Yep, while it is a binding contract that can rarely be broken or thrown out if a couple divorces in the U.S., it is completely different in the U.K.

“Historically, members of the royal family have not had them. They are more popular in the United States, it’s just not a British thing,” royal author Ingrid Seward told People magazine.
If a couple in the U.K. has a prenup, it will be considered during the divorce trial but it is not binding. Even though the papers are reviewed, they are not legally recognized.
People rejoicing for Meghan Markle or bashing Prince Harry for not getting a prenup...Prince William didn’t either. Prenups aren’t enforceable in the UK. 🤷🏽♀️

Although Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not have an official prenuptial agreement, it doesn’t mean they won't have some sort of agreement when it comes to their individual assets. Should they go that route, it would a private matter and the public would never know the details.
As for what would happen to the vast amounts of money each of them is bringing to the marriage should they divorce? Well, likely Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will each keep what they brought to the marriage. Considering most of his money is in various trusts, which are protected by U.K. law, there is no chance of Markle getting her hands on his fortune.

Prince William and Kate Middleton did not have a prenup before their wedding either. Therefore, the fact Prince Harry and Meghan Markel are not having one either is not all that surprising.
What do you think about the royal couple not having a preunup?
