Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Will Not Be Together On Valentine's Day (Here's Why)

Valentine's Day is just around the corner, but newlyweds Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be spending this love day apart. With February 14th being their first Valentine's Day as a married couple, it would have made sense for them to want to make it extra special and romantic, especially since it is also their last Valentine's Day with no babies around. However, it seems as if duty calls and Prince Harry will travel out of the country for an official event, leaving pregnant Meghan to celebrate the day by herself and perhaps a box of chocolate.

The nature of Prince Harry's travels on February 14th is purely official and part of his duties as Captain General of the Royal Marines. So instead of spending Valentine's Day having a romantic breakfast in bed and exchanging Valentine appropriate presents with his lovely wife, Prince Harry will be out working 200 miles north of the Arctic Circle.

As reported by Cosmopolitan, Prince Harry is traveling to Norway for this official visit, where he will attend an annual winter training exercise called Exercise Clockwork. Exercise Clockwork provides an opportunity for the Royal Marines to train in the harsh winter weather in the north of Norway, and Prince Harry will be there to meet with the military personnel. The training consists of overall survival in the freezing cold, but also how to operate an aircraft in the demanding mountainous environment.

This year's Exercise Clockwork marks the 50th-anniversary Commando Helicopter Force and Joint Helicopter Command deploying to Bardufoss in Norway, and this trumps Valentine's Day for the Prince. Although Prince Harry will be spending the day in Norway, he will most likely be reunited with his pregnant wife, the Duchess of Sussex, in the evening, so there should still be plenty of time for a romantic dinner.

With such a speedy in-and-out type of trip, it is safe to assume Meghan will be able to entertain herself during the day, and with her being pregnant she might welcome the opportunity to rest. What the newlywed parents-to-be have planned for their romantic evening has not been revealed, but there is no doubt they will make this first Valentine's Day as a married couple special.
