Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists Is The Spinoff All PLL Fans Have Been Waiting For

Alison and Mona return for PLL spinoff Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists

Cult TV-series Pretty Little Liars is coming back with the new spinoff show Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists and PLL fans all over the world are absolutely ecstatic over the trailer. Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists is, just as PLL, based on the series of books written by Sara Shepard, and the plot takes place a couple of years after Pretty Little Liars ended. According to the author, the spinoff will be inspired by the book series, but since the original plot twist would be nearly impossible to transfer to television, the story will be quite different.

Pretty Little Liars ended in 2017 after seven years of murder, mystery, and a ton of unexpected twists and developments, and although Riverdale is kind of trying, PLL fans believe that there is just no replacing Pretty Little Liars. Luckily, there are some actors from the original show that will be on the cast of the spinoff as well; Sasha Pieterse is returning in the role of Alison DiLaurentis, because how could there be a PLL spinoff without Alison? Another key character who will be back is Mona Vanderwaal, played by Janel Parrish, so viewers can definitely expect some crazy drama going down.

As reported by Cosmopolitan, the spinoff takes place in a college town called Beacon Heights and follows three students enrolled at this prestigious Beacon Heights University. Both Alison and Mona are teaching at BHU, and if they thought they left all the crazy murder dramas behind in Rosewood, they were utterly wrong.

This college is apparently one of the hardest in the country, and with all that pressure the trailer shows how someone suddenly breaks under the pressure and snaps. The three main characters are students at the school; Ava an aspiring fashion designer, Dylan a cellist, and Caitlin, an athlete. In the sneak peek of the first episode all three of them are seen pushing themselves really hard in their separate fields; with Dylan, played by Eli Brown, playing a magnificent solo of Lady Gaga's Poker Face on cello.

The trailer also shows a horrific murder, but which of these new pretty little perfectionists snapped? The first episode of Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists airs on March 20, so be sure to tune in for a PLL reunion.
