In a world full of fake news and Instagram stories making us all feel inferior, it must be pretty difficult to be an adolescent. Hell, it was difficult being a teenager in the 90s and that was before smartphones existed. We were still running around with our Tamagotchis and waiting on dial-up internet so we could try and send an IM to a friend. It was a simpler time, albeit less convenient. With the pressure on today's youth ever mounting, our favorite straight-talking, empowering songstress Pink shared some words of wisdom.

Taking over the cover of People, the 38-year-old songstress had some pretty honest words to share. She spoke about how being known as a woman who is true to herself can be a blessing and a curse, causing some people to shy away from her. "Some people would march with me, and other people would run away as fast as they can," she explained, going on to say that it didn't make a difference to how she valued herself. In fact, she remains proud of how she handled it.

Since she exploded onto our radars with her debut album Can't Take Me Home in 2000, the star has been a shining beacon of hope for misfits everywhere. Refusing to change her hair and instead keeping her tomboyish style has sent out a profound message to women worldwide - be the you that you want to be. When it comes to being a teen, she didn't mince her words when giving advice. "Kids suck, people suck, adults suck," said Pink. "Find your village and there's beautiful, rad, weird people out there just like you, or a littler weirder than you. They may not be in your town, they may not be in your school."

The mother-of-two went on to detail some of her experiences and desires for reassurance as a child. "I wish someone would have told me when I was 13, that my green hair, and my braces and my freckles...it was going to work for me one day. Wear your retainer, fly your flag...All the coolest people in high school always end up...not so cool. Not so cool."

That's some pretty stellar advice from one of the baddest, bossest babes in the business. We could all do with more doses of her realness. We love you, Pink.
