The Ariana Grande/Pete Davidson breakup is leading to all kinds of speculation regarding what will happen now. One item that is being discussed is the legendary $93,000 pear-shaped diamond engagement ring, with which the couple sealed their whirlwind romance that ended as quickly as it started.

According to legal scholars, in New York state, Davidson is entitled to keep the ring after the engagement ended since by law it is a “conditional gift” that was purchased on the condition that the couple get married. Now that that deal is off the table, the ring should return to Davidson’s pocket.

But no need to worry. According to TMZ, Grande has already returned the ring to Davidson. The website says there was "no struggle" and that the singer was "quick to fork it over." Just as well since Davidson only earns $315,000 a year on SNL, while Grande is sitting on a $50 million fortune.

Grande, however, is not walking away empty-handed. She will keep the couple’s baby, a teacup pig named Piggy Smallz that the couple bought together, although it was Grande who wrote the check, as Davidson told Seth Meyers on Late Night. However, even though Davidson lost custody of the pig, he won’t soon forget it. He has a tattoo of Piggy Smallz on his torso to remind him of his baby and his love.

The outing was the singer’s first public appearance since the breakup. She goes on to add, "time to say bye bye to the internet for just a lil bit. it's hard not to bump news n stuff that i'm not tryna to see rn. it's very sad and we're all tryin very hard to keep goin. love u. and thank u for bein here always."

Most speculation regarding the reasons for the breakup points to the death of Mac Miller, Grande’s ex-boyfriend, who died of a suspected drug overdose in Los Angeles on September 7, 2018. His passing reportedly took a toll on Grande, for whom the past year has been trying. In May 2017, a bombing at her concert in Manchester, UK, resulted in the death of 22 people, which left the singer heartbroken and unable to continue her tour.
