Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry just won Hollywood's most romantic Valentine's Day by getting engaged. It seems as if celebrities tend to go all out in showing off the most romantic way to spoil their significant other with gifts, flowers and grand gestures, but this year's Valentine's Day has a clear winner. Both Orlando and Katy took to their respective Instagram to share the good news with their followers and fans by uploading the same adorable photo showing the both of them, the ring, and in the background a tonne of heart-shaped balloons. How romantic!
The thirty-four-year-old singer captioned her Instagram post 'full bloom', fitting due to the flower-shaped engagement ring, and also a play on words with Orlando Bloom's last name. Orlando, on the other hand, captioned his photo 'lifetimes', which makes it sound he is more than certain he and Katy are in it for the long run. Katy Perry's mother seems to be over the moon with her daughter's engagement and shared several photos from the engagement party, showing the loved-up couple and even a closeup of the stunning $5 million engagement ring.
As reported by Cosmopolitan, Katy Perry and the Pirates Of The Caribbean actor were first romantically linked after a 2016 Golden Globe after party, and have been dating since. However, they broke up for some time in 2017 only to realise they were meant to be together in February last year after having vacationed in Japan together. Sometimes a couple needs to spend some time apart before eventually ending up together, hopefully even stronger and more in love.
Both Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have been married once before, so they know what they are getting themselves into. Katy was married to actor and comedian Russell Brand from 2010 to 2012, and Orlando Bloom was married to former Victoria's Secret model Miranda Kerr from 2010 to 2013, and they have an eight-year-old son together.
Now, Valentine's Day is obviously not an actual competition, and there were several over the top romantic celebrations going on all over Hollywood. Getting engaged is however hard to beat, and it will most likely be remembered as the best Valentine's Day ever by both Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom.
