Talk about a family feud! Nick Carter has gotten a restraining order against his younger brother after Aaron threatened his pregnant wife.
Nick announced the shocking news via Twitter, confirming that both he and his sister Angel (Aaron’s twin sister) decided to take legal action. “After careful consideration, my sister Angel and I regret that we were required to seek a restraining order against our brother Aaron today,” the 39-year old wrote on Tuesday. Nick included the hashtags #mentalhealth #GunControlNow #GunControl in the post.
The celebrity then revealed their reason- Aaron allegedly threatened to harm Nick’s wife Lauren Kitt and their unborn baby. “In light of Aaron’s increasingly alarming behavior and his recent confessions that he harbors thoughts and intentions of killing my pregnant wife and unborn child, we were left with no choice but to take every measure possible to protect ourselves and our family,” he explained.
Nick ended the post by adding, “We love our brother and truly hope he gets the proper treatment he needs before any harm comes to himself or anyone else.”
Aaron has long struggled with mental health. He has had various run-ins with the law over the years for substance possession and driving under the influence. He has also openly suffered from addictions. In 2017, Aaron entered a 90-day treatment program in Malibu.
More recently, on September 16th, TMZ reported that police put Aaron on a 5150 psychiatric hold, likely stemming from the threats he alleged against this family. The publication reports the singer told police he had loaded weapons in his house but didn’t want to surrender them. During a recent episode of The Doctors, Aaron admitted to having a variety of mental health issues.
“The official diagnosis is that I suffer from multiple personality disorder, schizophrenia, acute anxiety and manic depression,” he explained. “I’m prescribed to Xanax, Seroquel, Gabapentin, Hydroxyzine, Trazodone, Omeprazen.” Since the episode aired, however, the star has denied having any problems. According to TMZ, he is insisting to authorities that he’s ‘stable.’
Aaron has already responded to his brother’s announcement. The former child star claims he hasn’t even seen his brother in years. “So my brother just got a restraining order against me. And I was just served lol,” he wrote via Twitter. “Take care. @nickcarter we’re done for life. I haven’t seen him in four years. And I don’t intend.” Aaron added, “You should send a cease and desist while you’re at it too.”
But that wasn’t the end of the troubled singer’s rant. He went on to claim that the doesn’t want anything to do with his family. “I am astounded at the accusations being made against me and I do not wish harm to anyone, especially my family,” Aaron tweeted. “This is obviously a chess game of some sort.”
He added that, if his family continues, he’ll be taking his own legal action. “All I ask is for my family to leave me alone,” Aaron wrote. “This is blood. Not love. I will never be around you and I don’t want to be around you. I am the one who said I’m done then you send me this!? Ok. Stop trying to get me 5150’d before I file a harassment suit myself Nick.”
Aaron then proceeded to share footage of a 2006 altercation between him and his brother, claiming Nick has “bullied” and "tortured" him all his life.
