After this year’s Golden Globes ceremony, Pete Davidson and Kate Beckinsale were spotted holding hands. This coincided with reports that the SNL comedian is "just her type". A source at the party mentioned that "they were flirting all night and sipping champagne. They were outside on the patio and left together."
Romances in Hollywood tend to be fleeting, therefore, reports of a blossoming relationship may be based on nothing substantial. Yet Davidson and Beckinsale were spotted again last Friday night leaving the SNL star’s comedy show at Largo at the Coronet in Los Angeles with reports adding that they took a car together to his hotel.
"Kate is into Pete and he’s exactly her type... she likes guys who make her laugh", adding that when they first met, "Kate and Pete were flirting...People approached her, and she didn’t want to talk to anyone else," a source told US Weekly.
Though Davidson, 25, and Beckinsale, 45, seem like an unlikely couple given that he’s a comic and she’s a serious actress, they are both currently unattached and free to date whomever they please. Davidson ended his engagement to Ariana Grande last October, while Beckinsale divorced director Len Wiseman in 2016, citing "irreconcilable differences." Before Wiseman, Beckinsale was with Michael Sheen, with whom she shares a daughter, Lily, 20.
According to Us Weekly, both stars have addressed the speculation surrounding their relationship. When a fan shouted Beckinsale's name at one of Davidson’s shows earlier this month, he “smiled sheepishly" and "said, ‘yes.’” Meanwhile, Beckinsale responded to a fan’s comment on an Instagram post of her mother, which read, "Dear heavens, Kate. Not Pete Davidson." Beckinsale demurely replied. "No, that's my mother. Easy mistake.”

Both Davidson and Beckinsale share a common link. The comedian’s father, a firefighter, died while responding to the World Trade Center during the September 11 terrorist attacks when Davidson was just six years old. Beckinsale was also six when her father died of a massive heart attack. The actress actively supports the British Heart Foundation.
Yesterday, Beckinsale attended a Super Bowl party in Los Angeles. She posted an Instagram selfie in which she’s wearing a Tom Brady Jersey. The British actress admits, however, that she doesn’t know much about American football. No word on whether Davidson was also at the party.
