Miley Cyrus may have just gone through two high-profile breakups, but the pop star is already dating someone new- and that someone is Aussie pop star Cody Simpson!
The two were spotted going for acai bowls last week before quickly confirming their newfound romance on social media. The two have since posted multiple cozy photos and mushy messages to one another online. For instance, after Miley was hospitalized for tonsillitis earlier this week, she posted a video to Instagram of her new man serenading her with his voice and guitar while she lay in her hospital bed.
“This sweeeeeet guy came to visit at the hospital and sang the sweeeeeetest song he wrote just for me,” Miley captioned a video. Fans couldn’t help but comment about how quickly the couple’s relationship was moving, given that Cody already appears to be writing her songs.
Miley’s new romance with Cody does come as quite the surprise, however, especially given her recent romantic history. The singer was previously involved with Kaitlynn Carter (aka. Brody Jenner’s recent ex-wife) from August to September before things fizzled out. However, it was only in early August the star announced she was separating from her husband of 8 months Liam Hemsworth, despite dating for well over a decade.
According to sources, those close to Miley are beginning to feel worried. “Miley Cyrus’ inner circle are always concerned whenever they see her post seductively on social media and making out in public in the way in which she has this week, because they know she’s hurting,” one insider recently told Hollywood Life about the situation.
“They all know when she acts like that, it’s because something else is going on and they just want her to slow down and think about things a bit more,” the source added. “This breakup with Liam is making Miley truly figure out who she is and what she wants and everyone knows she’s going through it and this is just what Miley does.”
Even more telling, Miley’s ex-girlfriend Kaitlynn is also reportedly worried. “Kaitlynn has expressed concern over Miley’s behavior to friends,” a source told TMZ. “She’s worried for her well-being."
Miley has defended her and Cody’s rushed relationship. In a lengthy Twitter rant, she wrote, "I am trying to just THRIVE/survive in a 'man's' world. If we can’t beat 'em, join 'em! If our president can 'grab 'em by the p—'...can’t I just have a kiss and açaí bowl?!?!”
She continued, “This 'dating' thing is new to me too. I’ve never been an 'adult'/ grown ass woman experiencing this. I was in a committed relationship for almost all my teens and early 20s, with the exception of a few breaks, which usually in those times I was working my ass off with not much R&R, and 'meeting / trusting' people in my position is really tuff."
