Sorrentino recently completed an eight-month stint in jail for tax evasion. Before heading in to serve his sentence, he and Lauren decided to tie the knot on November 1st of last year. He recognized the milestone on his personal Instagram account posting a couple of shots from the wedding, including a gorgeous shot of him dancing with Lauren onto the dance floor.
He captioned the photo, “The best day of my life.” Their wedding was held in New Jersey and attended by over 200 guests.
The former Jersey Shore star’s wedding was featured on a multiple episode arc of the spin-off series Jersey Shore Family Vacation. His Jersey co-stars, Paul “DJ Pauly DelVecchio, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Vinny Guadagnino, Jenni “J-Wow” Farley, and Deena Nicole Cortese all attended his wedding. They all also liked the fact that the happy couple was celebrating their first anniversary as some cast members also liked Mike's anniversary posts.
The Situation, 37, and his wife, 34, originally met in college. They dated for four years before breaking up while Mike starred on Jersey Shore. As we all know, Sorrentino spent those years drinking, fist pumping, smushing, and heading into a downward spiral. After the show, Sorrentino and Pesce reconnected.
Mike credits Lauren with supporting him as he battled an addiction to prescription pills and dealt with his legal issues. He pled guilty to tax evasion as part of a plea deal and served his sentence.
He served his time in upstate New York using the time to work out. Now that he has served his time, he will be on probation for two years. Anyone who followed Jersey Shore since it began 10 (!) years ago in 2009 know the transformation The Situation has made. He went from a meathead to a loving husband. Most importantly, he got sober and healthy.
The Situation seems to have found love and happiness, and we wish him and Lauren many more years of marriage to come.
