Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino has changed dramatically since the last time he was on TV, and he’s letting the world know.
The Situation wasn’t always known for being wise, or even being a role model, but according to Cosmopolitan, he’s turned over a new leaf and is claiming to be a man of integrity.
“Today the Situation lives with integrity,” Sorrento says. “I don’t lie, I don’t cheat, I don’t steal, I don’t drink, I don’t drug. I’m a top mans today.”
Fans reading this might be a little surprised to hear this from the fist-pumping partygoer of yesteryear. This is quite the change of pace for the reality star. Back in 2009, when Jersey Shore started out, Sorrentino was known for his hard-core partying ways. Still, that was some time ago, and it’s been six years since fans said goodbye to the lovable partiers and their fascination with t-shirts.
In that time, both Nicole “ Snookie: Polizzi and Jennifer “JWoww “ Farley have gone on to become mothers— both staring in their own reality show, Pauly D became a successful DJ, Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola started a podcast called Just Sayn, Vinny Guadagnino dipped his foot into acting, Ronnie became a father, and Deena Nicole Cortese has stayed out of the spotlight. It’s safe to say the new season of Jersey Shore will be a little different.
Sorrentino, however, has had a bit more of an interesting time away. While he’s enjoyed sporadic TV appearances, he’s had his trouble with the law. Most recently, he pleaded guilty to tax evasion, but he’s waiting for his sentencing. Outside of that, however, Sorrentino is two-years sober and is settling down with his college sweetheart. Again, that’s a far cry from what we're used to, but everyone in the cast seems to have moved on—at least somewhat—from their partying reality TV ways.
In the meantime, The Situation was granted permission to film this comeback season of Jersey Shore, and it seems like in spite of his claims, there will be just as much drama as ever. The first episode aired on April 5, 2018, to strong ratings. So hopefully, The Situation, along with the rest of the cast, hasn't changed too much, because the fans clearly missed them, flaws and all.
