The Duke And Duchess Of Sussex, aka Harry and Meghan, have been touring Australia and New Zealand. The royal trip, which entails numerous outfit changes, has showcased the couple’s undeniable style. Meghan has been seen in a very British Karen Walker trench coat with a black maternity dress underneath, a custom Gabriela Hearst variation of the Hervé dress, and a Maggie Marilyn Faith Blazer Dress, among numerous others.
Today, the Duchess has rocked her most youthful and, dare we say, daring outfit yet in New Zealand – black skinny jeans paired with a black turtleneck, a grey coat and an amazing pair of Veruka lace-up combat boots by Stuart Weitzman, which retail for $698.00 at Nordstrom.
The inevitably soon-to-be-sold-out boots, which come in a variety of colors, as well as in suede, leather, or PVC, certainly make a statement in black. The classic combat boots have been transformed into a sock boot, which takes a bit of the hardcore edge off. Featuring leather wraparound laces, signature metal square studs and a sleek rounded block heel, the boot are fiercely utilitarian yet also undeniably feminine and fashion-forward.
The coat worn by the Duchess is a Seaweed Green Ellayne Trench from Club Monaco, a brand Meghan has worn before, that unfortunately is already sold out. It only stands to reason that the coat will be reissued by the brand and copied by others.
Meghan’s look is not surprising style-wise since she has style to spare, but it is unusual when compared to her sister-in-law Kate, who seems to prefer more demure, straight-laced designs. The look is reminiscent of post-Charles Diana, who often wore jeans that she occasionally paired with boots and oversized jackets. Also, Diana in a black turtleneck on the cover of Vogue Magazine UK is an iconic image.

The Duke and Duchess, who have already visited Australia, Fiji, and the Kingdom of Tonga, will be in New Zealand until Wednesday.
