The Queen reportedly wants her to ditch her sexy style and dress in a more royal-like manner. So Meghan Markle is now experimenting with a slew of awesome new designers such as Safiyaa.

Don't feel bad if, like us, you had never heard about Safiyaa before. Do you remember the dazzling blue cape dress that Meghan wore during her visit to Fiji? It was Safiyaa.

It is also the brand behind the uber-elegant sequin halterneck top and maxi skirt that the Duchess of Sussex recently wore at her first Royal Variety Performance.

Giving a British brand a chance was a wise call for Meghan, to say the least. The former Suits actress was accused earlier this year of shunning British fashion and sticking to familiar Canadian brands such as Judith & Charles and House of Nonie.

Safiyaa is a London-based brand that was created by German-born designer Daniela Karnuts. Despite being relatively unknown to the wider public, it has already gained traction with A-listers such as supermodel Gigi Hadid, Kylie Jenner, and Holly Willoughby, according to the Daily Mail.

But apart from being proudly British, there’s another reason why the label resonates with Meghan. Safiyaa, according to its core values, was “created by women for women” and this gives out a wonderfully feminist message. What’s more, its creator, Daniela Karnuts, is a working mother-of-two who knows exactly how pregnant royals should look like. Let’s just say that Meghan’s maternity style is in good hands!

More interesting facts about Safiyaa include that Daniela named the brand after her own daughter. Established in 2011, Safiyaa sells well-tailored gowns, skirts, tops and jumpsuits that stress elegance and sleekness over glamour. Its pieces are perfect for a Duchess, and for any woman who wants to show off sophistication instead of sexiness on a night out.

And in case you’re wondering, it doesn’t come cheap- unfortunately! The black ensemble that Meghan recently wore cost an eye-watering £1745 pounds, while the Fiji blue gown cost £1,095. With its classic style and high-end prices, Safiyaa is definitely not for all pockets.

We just love Meghan’s elegant transformation, and hope to see her champion more British labels in the future!
