Samantha Grant, the older (and estranged) half-sister to royal-to-be, Meghan Markle, is not a happy camper. According to sources, Grant has recently found out that Markle is not planning to invite her along with several other family members to her royal wedding to Prince Harry on May 19th.
Grant took to Twitter to vent her frustrations at her younger half-sister excluding certain family members. "The Markle family is looking forward to our wedding invites," Grant, who uses a wheelchair due to suffering from multiple sclerosis, tweeted back on April 11th. "No one has one yet. Still waiting. I hope London is wheelchair friendly. Excited!"
When a fellow Twitter user pointed out that maybe the invites were not even sent out yet, Grant replied, "Well everyone is making arrangements and it's difficult to organize everything as you can imagine."
The very same day, Grant tweeted, "At issue is not a matter of closeness as more than 1000 complete strangers are invited. Family is family. I have an uncle I have only seen once but I would never say he is not family because we are not close. Humanitarians move forward with love and kindness especially to Family."
One month earlier, Kensington Palace had announced that 600 lucky "golden ticket holders" would get to watch the actual wedding ceremony take place inside of St. George's Palace and an additional 2,640 people would get to be present outside to watch the arrival of the bride and groom, as well as guests.
"Smoke and mirrors cannot hide the elephant in the room," Grant wrote on Twitter once she realized she would not be receiving an invite. "Out of respect, tradition, and humanitarianism, the #Markles should be invited if 2000 complete strangers are invited. Our uncle who got her the internship, brother, me, best friend of 30 years Nikki Priddy, nephews. Fact.”
Though one of Markle's nephews, Tyler Dooley, appeared on the show, "Good Morning Britain" one month earlier in March with his mother Tracy, to say that though they had not received wedding invitations. He said they were both okay with that fact and only wished the best for Markle as they always have throughout the success of her career.
Grant, who does not appear to share Dooley and his mother's optimistic attitude about not receiving a wedding invitation, also tweeted, "We are getting [s] Markle Royal Coat of arms but not invited to the wedding? And it's not only Meg who is 15th cousin to Harry. My brother and I are also. I was the first born Markle to my father. Exclude the Markle's from this wedding would be highly inappropriate."
Grant seemed to still be stewing over the matter when she replied to a Joel Osteen's tweet that said, "God is going to surprise you. He's going to bring you a great harvest, something that you never imagined." Grant's comment? "Like an invite to the royal wedding."
