Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Visit Morocco Days After Baby Shower

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle arrived in Casablanca, Morocco this past Saturday. The couple will visit North Africa for three days on a royal tour that includes visits to educational organizations, the Atlas Mountains and Rabat, the capital of Morocco.

As they got off the plane, the couple held hands. Meghan, 37, wore a beautiful red Valentino dress, tan heels and carried a pink Valentino purse, while Harry, 34, wore a gray suit and pink tie. Meghan and Prince Harry were welcomed by Morocco's Crown Prince Moulay Hassan and will stay at a private residence owned by King Mohammed VI.

A Kensington Palace spokesperson said, "Their royal highnesses are very much looking forward to the visit and are grateful to their hosts and the British Embassy for arranging such an interesting programme."

Upon their arrival, Harry and Meghan were served milk and dates , which is a traditional welcome treat in Morocco. Thomas Reilly, Britain's ambassador to Morocco, said, "It's hugely exciting to have their royal highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Sussex here for the next few days and I'm really excited to showcase the vital roles that girls' education and youth employment are playing in shaping modern Morocco."

Adding, "This official visit by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will highlight Morocco's focus on women's empowerment, girls' education, inclusivity and the encouragement of social entrepreneurship."

Today, couple attended a reception hosted by Reilly, and his wife, Leah, at the British Residence in Rabat. Meghan wore a bespoke dress by Dior with draped sleeves and carried a matching tan clutch. Her hair was pulled back in a low bun, which revealed her Birks Snowflake Snowstorm diamond earrings, which she has worn numerous times, including during the couple’s visit to Ireland in July and the royal tour of Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand in October. Harry, meanwhile, wore a navy suit and an olive green tie.

The trip was scheduled just days after Meghan returned from her trip to New York City, where she celebrated her baby shower with friends that included Serena Williams, Abigail Spencer, Gayle King, Amal Clooney, and Jessica Mulroney, among others.

The baby shower was held at the penthouse of the Mark Hotel on the Upper East Side. The penthouse is listed at $75,000 per night. The room had been lavishly decorated with peonies and roses and also featured a cotton candy machine. The harpist Erin Hill offered a recital during the celebration.
