The closer it gets to the wedding of the year between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the greater the deluge of even the most miniscule factoids surrounding the bride-to-be. The latest juicy morsel concerns Markle's penmanship, which according to one famous admirer is fantastic.

That source would be Paula Patton, who recalls her working at a small stationery store called Paper Source in Beverly Hills years ago. Patton, best known for roles in Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol and Warcraft: The Beginning, as well as marrying and divorcing singer Robin Thicke, claims she was knocked out by Markle's calligraphy skills on the wedding invitations sent out before getting hitched with the "Blurred Lines" performer in 2005. Markle also put her fancy fontwork on other celebrity stationery orders and even taught calligraphy classes at night.

"I just thought Meghan did a beautiful job," said Patton about Markle's letter artistry. "It really is a lost art, and it was so nice to create something without a device that doesn't use a battery or need to be plugged in."

The two remained friends and kept in touch occasionally, even after both of them managed to break down the door to get major roles in Tinseltown. But Patton admits it's been a few years since they got together; the last time was when they bumped into each other at a film festival and they haven't connected since.

Understandably, both have been busy, with Patton ending a relationship while Markle is cultivating a new one that's understandably been getting more attention. Still, Patton, who admits that her penmanship isn't good at all, says she's as anxious as the rest of the world as they await the magic date when the customary "I dos" will be uttered. The actress, who claims she has the vocabulary of a sailor, greatly admires Markle's grace and calm demeanor which are on par with her calligraphy abilities.

Ordinarily, handwriting skills wouldn't be a big deal when it comes to someone marrying into the royal family. However, Markle's prowess with a pen is probably greater than 90 percent of the global population, now that folks communicate more on keyboards these days. Lousy handwriting, not to mention withering attention spans and even crappier etiquette on social media can be blamed on technology, especially that Interwebby thing.

Given her acting career, most notably on the series Suits, where she obviously had to memorize a script for each episode, one would assume her cognitive faculties are intact. As for grace, well she did call out a certain Commander-In-Chief for being misogynist, but then, so have several women regardless of fame.

With all that, and once the monarchy knot is tied, chances are she'll be able to come up with the neatest-looking grocery list on this, or other, side of the Atlantic.
