The daughter of pop idol Madonna and Cuban-born dancer slash fitness trainer Carlos Leon has grown up and is now a catwalk model. "Lola" just made her runway debut, and the whole world suddenly wants to know what she’s been up to all these years.
Of course, Lourdes Leon is no stranger to modeling and showbiz. But until now the 21-year-old had never walked down a catwalk, and we weren’t even sure she liked the idea. This just changed on Tuesday at this year’s New York Fashion Week, where the 21-year-old strutted her stuff alongside Gigi and Bella Hadid, Hayley Baldwin and Kaia Gerber, and wowed everyone with her unique looks and mind-blowing confidence.

In the Gypsy Sport Spring Summer 2019 showcase, Lourdes wore a barely-there beaded shell chain bralette, and savagely ripped jeans that revealed her unshaved legs. Lourdes has been known for embracing her body hair, and kudos to her for owning it. She looked even fiercer than her famous mom (if that's even possible).
With her natural Latin beauty and trademark unshaven armpits, Lourdes is like a modern embodiment of Frida Kahlo. She unapologetically brings feminist vibes into the world of fashion, and let’s be honest, the fashion world craves them.Madonna’s eldest daughter already has some modeling experience, as she recently became the face of Stella McCartney millennial fragrance POP. But apart from this one high profile modeling gig, as well as posing for a Converse X MadeMe collaboration, we weren’t sure that she had any real modeling aspirations to start with. As Bazaar confirms, Lourdes has kept a rather low-profile, and despite being a talented natural beauty, hadn’t pursued any specific career in the arts. Instead, she focused on cultivating her existing talents, graduating from La Guardia School of Performing Arts to attend the University of Michigan, just like mom Madge.
Moreover, having known uninterrupted fame and publicity since the day she was born, Lourdes apparently also appreciates a life away from the spotlight. Will this change now that she is a runway model and will we see her earning a paycheck in more high fashion shows? Time will tell.
