This teenage YouTuber made a prom dress out of trash bags, and the internet is losing its mind.

Have you ever been accused of being a trashy dresser? Apparently Amber Scholl of Los Angeles, California has been on more than one occasion. It in fact gave her the idea to create a dress made out of trash bags to prove the haters 100% correct about her trashiness.

And it actually turned out much better than expected.

To start, Amber went on a thrift-store dive and found a black bodysuit and a black sheer skirt. Nothing special on their own, but combined they’d form the base for what would become a trashy pièce de résistance.

Next came the trash bags. This is, as expected, a simple matter of heading to the grocery store and picking up a box. Here’s where Amber gets creative: rather than making a dress out of thin plastic, she took the trash bags, cut them up into strips, and fashioned them into little roses. Then she glued them all to the bodysuit to make it seem like it was covered in trashy roses.

The skirt was then given a few larger roses strategically placed throughout, as well as a line of trash-bag-roses around the hem. And voila! Trashy dress. All it took was a few trash bags, some duct tape, fabric glue, and a $10 find at Value Village.

Oh, and time. Lots and lots of time.

Posting her creation to Twitter, Amber captioned the images with: "When someone calls you trashy, make a dress out of trash bags & prove them fabulously correct 🗑👸🏻🖤 #DIY ✨"

The Twitter post already has 22,000 likes and 5,200 retweets since Sunday and shows no signs of stopping. Her YouTube video has over 800,000 views. That’s already as many as most of her DIY videos, and that’s in one day. She’s set to make some serious YouTube money out of a trash bag dress.

"Honestly, I think this is the best DIY I've ever done,” Amber says at the end of her video. We couldn’t agree more.
