MAC Cosmetics announced the launch of their 2018 holiday line, the Shiny Pretty Things collection, on October 16th. And this year, there is, even more, to get excited about. As part of the collection, MAC is releasing the brand’s first ever beauty advent calendar. Beauty advent calendars have become extremely popular in the cosmetics world, and if you’re undecided about your favorite products in the collection, choosing the beauty advent calendar means you get a new surprise each day of December until Christmas.
The Shiny Pretty Things collection is inspired by technicolor shades, glittery textures, and luxurious pigments. And these new products aren’t just suited for Christmas and New Year’s parties, either—you can definitely incorporate them into a spooky or glamorous Halloween look in the next couple of weeks. There are so many products to choose from, so whether you’re looking for cute stocking stuffers for your sisters, a present for a gift exchange with your best friends, or just a little something to treat yourself with, you’re sure to find it.
So, what are some of the highlights of the collection? There are several Mini Lip Gloss and Mini Lipstick sets with shades ranging from subtle nudes to bright reds to deep purples. The Medium Deep and Fair face compacts include shimmery shades for highlighting, contouring and giving your look a little extra pop. The Glitter Pigments sets, which come packed with bright, colorful eyeshadow pigments, will add some extra drama to any look. The Glow Getter kit is also sure to be a big hit. This kit contains everything you need to create the perfect base for a dewy look: it comes with MAC’s famous Xtra Dimension Skin Finish, Strobe Cream in Pink, and a Duo Fibre Face Glider Brush.
Prices for products in the Shiny Pretty Things collection range from $18.50 for single lip glosses to $79.50 for the complete lip kit. Many of the mini palettes and kits are just under $30. The beauty advent calendar is currently priced at £125 for European customers, and it has not yet been released in the US or Canada.
