Netflix has become the streaming platform of choice that just about everyone uses on a daily basis, a source of entertainment that has many sitting on the couch, scrolling through thousands of new movies and series, binge-watching all day and night. What's not to love, right? New Netflix originals keep coming out, old TV series we have long forgotten have returned to be watched again on the platform, and some blockbusters are accessible at the click of a button.

Today, we're taking a look at 20 Netflix originals we had forgotten or had no idea would be coming out in 2020 but that will leave us all on the edge of our seats with excitement, horror, laughter or tears!

20 Pacific Rim

Netflix has plans to turn the action movie Pacific Rim into an anime that will debut in 2020, and is thought to last for at least two seasons. The show will center around a pair of siblings who take charge of an abandoned Jaeger mech and use it to try and find their missing parents, encountering Kaiju along the way. For the many fans of this movie, this is exciting news that can't come soon enough!

19 The Kissing Booth 2

Netflix has been betting a lot on coming of age originals such as To All The Boys I've Loved Before or The Kissing Booth and these have proven to be popular enough that Netflix decided to pursue a sequel. Being one of the most rewatched Netflix movies of 2018, it's no surprise that a sequel has started production in June of this year. The cast has revealed to be returning, as well as new characters but we don't know much about the plot just yet. One thing is certain though: a lot of crazy things can be expected to happen in this sequel!

18 Madam C.J Walker

Netflix is currently producing a series based on the life of legendary African-American entrepreneur and philanthropist, Madam C.J. Walker, a hair care pioneer and mogul that overcame the troubles and strenuous challenges of turn-of-the-century America. The cast counts with stars such as Octavia Spencer (playing Madam C.J. Walker), Tiffany Haddish, Blair Underwood, Garrett Morris, Carmen Ejogo, and Kevin Carroll.

17 The End Of The F***ing World Season 2

It was back in January of 2018 that The End Of The F***ing World hit Netflix and swept a fan-base off their feet with the unique and raw story of James and Alyssa, two teenagers seeking a connection due to their own life issues. A self-proclaimed teenage serial killer and his first potential victim, a rebellious teenager who is searching for her father... together they join forces and run from the law as they get in unbelievable trouble across  town.

With a shocking finale that lead to many viewers being extremely curious of what would happen next, Netflix decided it was time for a sequel, which will be coming to us in 2020. The cast will be returning and we can expect to get our questions answered next year!

16 I Am Not Okay With This

The producers of Stranger Things, Haters Back Off, The End Of The F*****ing World, and Kodachrome have been working on a new coming of age series called I Am Not Okay With This, based on the graphic novel of the same name by Charles Forsman. It will be arriving to Netflix in 2020 and is described as the coming of age story about a teenage girl navigating through the troubles and challenges of high school, while dealing with family troubles, her sexuality, and mysterious superpowers that are awakening within her.

15 Dead To Me Season 2

Dead To Me was a dark comedy that came to us on May 3rd of this year and left a big impression in our hearts. It’s a mature comedy about two women who have recently lost their husbands and their processes around dealing with grief. However, there's more to the characters than what we see at first sight and this unlikely friendship will lead to some secrets being uncovered that have tormented them both. Fans were ecstatic to know that Netflix renewed this show for a second season, which will be coming to us on 2020, uncovering many twists that were left unanswered in season 1.

14 Jupiter’s Legacy

The Netflix original series is based on the 2013 comic book written by Mark Millar and illustrated by Frank Quitely. Jupiter's Legacy will be coming to us in 2020 with a known cast with some Hollywood stars such as Josh Duhamel and Leslie Bibb. This series will follow the offspring of the first generation of heroes that saved the world, as well as their children who are now celebrities with zero responsibilities.

When one of the first generation heroes decides to take over the world, the children will rise up to stop him and save the world. The full cast was already announced and we can expect this to be an exciting series for next year!

13 The Devil All The Time

The Devil All The Time is a psychological thriller movie with a Gothic drama twist that is set in post World War II, following the story of various disturbed men who suffer from the damages of the world post-war. However exciting and interesting the plot may be, the revealed cast leaves us in a twist of emotions and will surely make you want to watch it even more. Names such as Tom Holland, Sebastian Stan, Robert Pattinson, and Bill Skarsgård make us wonder why 2020 isn't coming any faster!

12 Guillermo Del Toro Presents 10 After Midnight

Guillermo Del Toro has been one of the most influential and genius directors of our time, taking us to fantastical worlds with hints of horror. He has recently pursued a new project alongside Netflix with a series entitled Guillermo del Toro Presents 10 After Midnight. We don't know much about it except it's a horror anthology, a collection of the Oscar-winning filmmaker’s personally curated stories, and is currently being filmed in Toronto. We just have to patiently wait for 2020 to see it!

11 To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before 2

This second movie doesn't come as a surprise, considering To All The Boys I've Loved Before was one of the most re-watched movies on Netflix last year, but it won't be as inspired by the second book of the series as you'd think. 10 The Society Season 2

In the first season, we followed a group of teenagers stuck in an alternate reality, away from the real one where their parents lived, left to fend for themselves. Names like Charles Esten, Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Rudy Pankow, Austin North, and Drew Starkey will be part of the cast.

8 Ragnarok

Ragnarok is an upcoming Norwegian Netflix series starring Jonas Strand Gravli, David Stakston, Theresa Frostad Eggesbø, Herman Tømmeraas, And Emma Bones. This coming of age series will have a unique and surprising take on Norse mythology, and its story will revolve around the inhabitants of Edda, who are perhaps not all who they claim to be. As strange weather occurrences start to take over the town, someone has to intervene in time to save the people of Edna.

7 The Haunting Of Bly Manor

In the second season of the very acclaimed The Haunting Of Hill House, Netflix has already revealed some details about the cast and the plot, though not enough to clench our thirst for the genius horror the show has provided us with. There aren't many details about the plot just yet, but we know it will be set in a new house with different characters and a different story— some of the original cast members will be returning, though. We can only hope for it to come soon!

5 Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous

Netflix has ordered the animated series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, inspired by the popular blockbuster Jurassic Park franchise. It will be set in the same timeline as 2015's Jurassic World. It follows a group of six teenagers chosen for a once-in-a-lifetime experience at a new adventure camp on the opposite side of Isla Nublar as dinosaurs cause havoc and the campers get stranded. It's a family-friendly adventure everyone will love!

4 Locke & Key

Netflix's Locke & Key will be an adaptation of the comic book series of the same name, and will be a horror-infused family drama, telling the story of widower Nina Locke and her three children, Tyler, Kinsey, and Bode, as they move to their family's ancestral farmhouse in rural Massachusetts, soon discovering it to be haunted. No official date has been released yet, but we know it will be coming to the streaming platform in 2020.

3 Ozark Season 3

Ozark will be returning to the streaming platform for a 3rd season, composed of 10 episodes, following Marty Byrde and his family as they fall deeper into a life of crime. We can expect some female empowerment as female characters take better and more powerful roles in the series. It will air somewhere in mid-2020, and we know some of the original cast of the first seasons will be returning once again for another season.

2 Ju-On

We all know Ju-On as one of the most well-known J-Horror movies that was later adapted into an American version (The Grudge.) Now, it seems Netflix has latched itself to the idea of a horror series based on the acclaimed movie franchise. Netflix currently has a page dedicated to the upcoming series, where it teases the series with the following statement: “The J-Horror classic franchise Ju-On was actually based on real events that occurred over four decades – and the truth is even more terrifying.” According to director Nicolas Pesce, “It’s a very different take on The Grudge than you know it from the past," and it should be arriving in Spring 2020.

1 The Witcher

Any fans of The Witcher game series is awaiting patiently with hope for the announced live action Netflix series based on the books by Andrzej Sapkowski (that were later turned into a game series by CD Projekt). The Witcher tells the story of Geralt of Rivia, a Witcher of the fictional land of The Continent.

Being a Witcher means being a monster hunter who kills mythical beasts for money, but this cynical and pragmatic man reluctantly helps those in needs as he travels through the lands on his many adventures.The Netflix adaption will follow him through these adventures and already had his first trailer revealed. We're all very excited for it!
