Lena Headey, 45, may have made her last Emmys appearance for being nominated for her role on Games of Thrones, but that doesn't mean she's going to hide under a rock. She's happy to show off her good looks on and off the red carpet, earning her more fans with ease. When it comes to strutting her stuff on the red carpet, she's not just flaunting whatever dress she picked out or how she had her hair and makeup done.
At this past Emmys- just before the awards show got underway- Headey showed off her newest tattoo. It's on one of her hands, and it's of a delicate yet detailed scarab beetle with its wings spread out. It looks incredibly technical and hard to do (at least for the tattoo artist), but it's certainly a gorgeous one!
Headey also took to her Instagram profile to show fans and followers alike of her new ink. The photo in question only showed off her tattoo with nothing else getting in the way. She captioned her post with, "@_dr_woo_ You master. Already in the next realm with my scarab 💚". Needless to say, it sounds as though she's in love with it!
If you don't follow Headey on social media, then you might not know that the ex-Game of Thrones actress has gotten plenty of tattoos before. This includes an open birdcage on her forearm, and a collection of lotus blossoms, peonies, and swallows that cover her back and shoulders. While most of those older tattoos are relatively colourful, the newest addition is all black, making it a nice change. It also sounds like she won't stop getting tattoos anytime soon- not that there's anything wrong with that.
"I always want more. It’s a terrible thing," Headey confessed in an interview back in 2015. "I’ll be outside a tattoo shop and hear the needle and think, 'I could just get a little one that nobody would see …' It’s something you can’t run from. You have to sit and find a way through [the discomfort]. I find a real calm, a real peace to it."
