Kylie Jenner is ending 2018 a bit blue. The reality star/entrepreneur had an eventful year. She gave birth on February 1 to a daughter, Stormi, got engaged to rapper Travis Scott, tied for fifth place on Forbes list of the wealthiest celebrities in the US, and continued to expand her wildly successful brand, Kylie Cosmetics.
Interestingly, Jenner tied with her brother-in-law Kanye’s former pal Jay-Z for richest celebrity with a net worth of approximately $900 million. Currently, the beauty maven is on track to become the youngest self-made billionaire ever.
To celebrate an overall happy year, Jenner, 21, decided to dye her hair an icy shade of blue. She also seems to have taken a bit off the back for a more defined bob. She debuted her new look yesterday on Instagram, where she quickly earned five million likes. This is not her first hair color change of the year. She has also sported bleached blonde, silver, dark brown, pink and denim locks in 2018. Her new color is similar to the one Kim Kardashian West adopted a week ago, though a bit bolder, proving that if there is one family member Jenner looks up to, it’s her older sister, Kim.
Though Jenner hasn’t revealed who recommended the color change, it is possible that Chris Appleton, who colored her hair pink in September, is responsible for the similar bubblegum shade this time around. To color Jenner’s hair pink, he used a combination of LimeCrime Unicorn Hair Tints to find the right shade and then reduced its intensity with Unicorn Hair Tints Dilute Hair Color Mixer to create a pastel feel.
Jenner has spent a few weeks traveling with her daughter and her fiancée on his Astroworld tour, and has been seen on occasion wearing matching outfits with baby Stormi. Her new hair color seems to echo Kylie Cosmetics’ Calm Before The Storm and Eye Of The Storm eyeshadow palette theme, which is inspired by weather changes with shades such as Whirlwind, a deepened plum, Thunderstruck, a matte cool grey, and Sunshine, a satin warm yellow. If so, it just proves that the soon-to-be billionaire has a keen cross-marketing eye.
