As any mother can attest, there's nothing quite like the first months of taking care of a new baby. Women all over the world feel it, the immense new pressure, scrambling for time and getting little to no sleep, it's common for new parents to experience this. And, according to the New York Times, pregnancy changes the brain on a physical, cellular level.

Likely caused by a combination of these factors, the phenomenon of "mommy moments" can cause a new parent to make obvious mistakes while they're trying their best to be as perfect as possible. And, it's something that can happen to anyone, celebs included!

Thankfully not a permanent state of mind, it's fun to look back at those moments and laugh and to realize that as hard as we try, no one is a perfect parent!

21 North West's Accidental Tan

Kim Kardashian definitely faces a ton of pressure to look flawless all the time, and it can’t be easy to keep that up while growing and raising kids! The mogul mama gets regular spray tans to keep up her glowing skin.

But, she found out the hard way that you can’t feed your baby without wiping it off!

According to She Knows, Kim’s friend Crissy Teigen asked her once whether she’d seen funny photos of other mothers who had managed to feed without taking off their tans, and Kim responded with her own confession. Little North once had a bronzed beard because Kim had forgotten her post-tan wipe down. Harmless, but hilarious!

20 Khloe K Forgets The Day

There are few babies in the world as cute and as celebrated as Khloe’s new baby, True Thompson. After struggling for years with infertility, the youngest Kardashian sister finally had a sweet baby of her own earlier this year. However, she was a little quick with the celebration of her new baby’s first month birthday.

She tweeted out an ‘I-can’t-believe-it’s-already-been-a-month’ style post, and fans were quick to point out …it hadn’t.

The star quickly admitted her mistake, saying “Guess what … until this tweet I thought it was the 12th the entire day lol. I’m so immersed in feedings, sleeping, and diapers -REPEAT!!” She then said she was going off no sleep and had “no idea what day it is.” Whoops!

19 Chrissy Teigen Fell Asleep Pumping

Everyone knows that Chrissy Teigen is the queen of funny mom tweets. The mom of two is famous for keeping it real with her fans about everything including motherhood, even if it’s sometimes TMI! In 2016 after giving birth to baby Luna, Chrissy tweeted “no one told me I would be coming home in diapers too.” And the new-mother hilarious realness didn’t stop there. About a month later, she tweeted:

“Fell asleep with my pump on and I think I’m in a different dimension now.”

And who could forget the time someone asked the celeb “how’s baby Luna?” and she replied, “I dunno can’t find her.” Dying. Thank you for being you, Chrissy!

18 Mila Kunis' Mistake On The Road

“Mommy Brain” can be comical, but it can also be dangerous. Mila Kunis lived one of every parent’s nightmares, but luckily things turned out okay. The actress shared with Babble that she had been very focused on preparing for a road trip with her baby, packing everything they could possibly need. The star even described feeling quite proud of herself, remembering anything and everything.

But, she forgot what was perhaps the most important thing: she drove away without buckling her daughter’s seatbelt! Mila described looking in the rearview mirror to check on her baby and realizing, “oh my god! She’s not strapped in!” Luckily, she pulled over safely and secured her child without an issue. Although terrifying, this could happen to anyone, and it’s incredible that Mila was so honest about the situation!

17 Julie Bowen's Awkward Police Encounter

Known for her comedic acting on Modern Family, Julie Bowen is just as funny of a mom in real life. The actress describes a totally embarrassing moment, according to SheKnows. Julie had to pump a lot of milk to feed her twins, and she apparently got really good at it. Good enough to multitask, by regularly pumping while driving to work.

She said that her time-saving trick worked really well until one day when she was stuck in traffic.

Sitting in bumper to bumper, the actress flagged down a nearby police officer to ask what was going on. When he came over to talk to her, she realized she was still attached to her pump! A 100% embarrassing moment, the actress said she just “hoped [the officer] didn't think [she] was buzzed.”

16 Jennifer Garner’s Potty Partners

Jennifer Garner is a famous actress and mom to three, Samuel, Violet and Seraphina. With two daughters and the youngest son, Jennifer is bound to have some funny stories. She told Us Weekly about a time when she was pregnant with baby number three, and her daughter saw her in her underwear said “Oh Mom, we have to have a talk…She said, 'Mom, your bottom has gotten so big that your underwear don't even begin to cover it.” Kids are hilarious but can be so harsh! The actress also spoke about her new bathroom habits:

"You know how once you have kids you never ever go to the bathroom by yourself again? At least one of them is always in there with you at all times." LOL.

15 Carrie Underwood’s Celebrity Diet

Carrie Underwood’s body is totally #goals-worthy, even though the singer-songwriter has a young son. How does she do it? According to one of her tweets, accidentally. In 2016, Carrie tweeted:

“It just occurred to me that the majority of my diet is made up of the foods that my kid didn't finish…”

Although hilarious, we don’t quite believe it. The mother shared with Self her ‘almost’ Vegan diet, which involves a lot of Tofu and vegetables, and undoubtedly, a bit more planning than eating her son’s leftovers. She also revealed her workout secret: wear your yoga clothes all day, every day. “If my son takes a nap, I’m good to go. He will take a nap, but it might not be very long. But I’m ready for it,” said the star of squeezing in a quick workout. Hey, whatever works!

14 Tina Fey Prepares For The Teen Years

One thing that most new parents inevitably do is think about the future. How will their kids grow up, what kind of people will they be, where will they go to college. And of course, what their relationship will be like as their children mature. But if you’re Tina Fey, you take that speculating to a whole new level. The comedian wrote an essay called Prayer For A Daughter, which included all sorts of hypothetical imagined future situations. The most specific and probably funniest was:

“And when she one day turns on me and calls me a name in front of Hollister, Give me the strength, Lord, to yank her directly into a cab in front of her friends, For I will not have that. I will not have it.” Power to you, Tina.

13 Christina Applegate’s Baby Burps

Being a first-time mother is unlike any other experience in life, and although people try to prepare for it, it’s hard to always feel like you’re doing everything right. You want to do everything perfectly but constantly question if you are doing it right, and celebrity mothers are no exception. Christina Applegate told People,

“I want to be the ultimate burper and diaper-changer, I want to be the ultimate at all of it.” But, of course, she experiences doubt too!

"Sometimes I stand there going, 'I'm not doing any of this right!' And then I get this big man belch out of her and I go, 'Ah, we accomplished this together’” the Anchorman actress said. Sounds like you’re doing just fine, Christina!

12 Reese Can’t Stop Singing And Using Slang

Reese Witherspoon’s kids are lucky to have a mom who’s silly, but they definitely don’t always appreciate it yet. Her three kids are 18, 14 and 15, and like most kids, don’t find their mom ‘hip.’ Reese just wants to have fun!

The celebrity mama likes to embarrass her kids, especially her teen son, and it seems using slang is a sure-fire way to do so. “When I say things like ‘lit.’ He’s like, ‘Don’t say that,’” the celeb mom dished to ET.

Also, she sometimes breaks out into song. “I think I embarrass them terribly when I try to sing Drake songs," Reese laughed. "I don't stop singing. I enjoy it." Hey, kids! Let your mothers sing! Moms like Drake too.

11 Hilary Duff's Baby Bull In A China Shop

There are certain places that one simply should not bring their small children. The Christmas ornament section at Bloomingdale’s is probably one of them. But, mistakes can be made, even if you’re Hilary Duff. The actress tweeted in 2014

“Worst idea of the day...The ornament section of Bloomingdales with a two-year-old.”

A totally understandable, albeit regrettable mistake, it was during the holiday season and the young mother was out with her kid. Although unfortunately, Hilary didn’t share details of the chaos that may or may not have ensued, it’s probably safe to assume some things were broken. Oops!

10 Emily Blunt Fears A ‘Milk Tsunami’

A common part of motherhood is forgetting to leave the house. After having her first child, Emily Blunt shared with InStyle, “After we got home from the hospital, I didn’t shower for a week.” Seeking to regain some semblance of normalcy, she and John thought they could go out for dinner. But, the new mom revealed, their plans were cut short: "I could last only about an hour because my boobs were exploding. When the milk first comes in, it’s like a tsunami. But we went, just to prove to ourselves that we could feel normal for a second." A little bit TMI, but she's keeping it real, and that’s definitely something that would make dinner uncomfortable!

9 Olivia Wilde Is “Softer Than She’s Ever Been”

Olivia Wilde had a baby in 2015, and to celebrate, the actress was featured on the cover of Shape magazine. However, she was very real about her experience with motherhood, and how she didn’t feel the need to “shed any physical evidence of [her] child-bearing experience.” The new mother simply would rather focus on her baby. She said,

"If I wasn't at work, I just wanted to stay home and party with my little man—and by 'party' I mean, of course, endless rounds of the 'Itsy Bitsy Spider.”

The actress also said that she’s “softer than she’s ever been.” It’s normal for new mamas to want to prefer time with their babies more than anything else, even if it’s spent singing the same song 100 times. She’s focusing and prioritizing things in a way that feels right to her, and we think that’s great!

8 Serena Williams’ Stroller Struggles

Serena Williams might be one of the most amazing professional athletes in the world, but that doesn’t stop her from struggling with some things just like anyone else. Ranked the number one by The Women's Tennis Association in singles on eight separate occasions between 2002 and 2017, the pro’s newest gig, motherhood, certainly isn’t slowing her down. But it might take some adjustment.

The star tweeted, “I've conquered a lot of things ... blood clots in my lungs — twice ... knee and foot surgeries ... winning Grand Slams being down match point ... to name just a few, but I found out by far the hardest is figuring out a stroller!"

7 Kelly Clarkson’s New “Edition”

Kelly Clarkson is lovable and gorgeous, and of course her baby Remy is, too! In 2016, the new mom was excited to share photographs of her newborn with all of her fans. She tweeted, “Meet Remy, our newest edition to the family! #charmfordays #watchoutladies.” A sweet sentiment that was accompanied by gorgeous photos, it was easy to overlook her error in diction.

But, as people on the internet always do, people quickly pointed out that “addition” would have been the proper word to use.

The actress took it in stride, replying,

Ha! Yes! I haven't slept in days! The best part is I ran that tweet by several other people who didn't catch it!”

We all make mistakes Kelly, we’ll totally let this one slide!

6 Kristen Bell: Playing A Game Of What's The Smudge

Kristen Bell is all the more lovable because she’s the first to admit that she isn’t perfect. She talked with Today about motherhood, and how easy it is to get in over your head. She said, “when I fail, that’s OK. I often plan to make dinner and find that I’m in way over my head. I should’ve planned for 20 minutes and I chose a recipe that lasted two hours and I blew it. And that’s OK.” Anyone can have a difficult time planning, but it’s even harder for a new mom to budget her time!

Even more comically, the Hollywood mom described the craziness and comedy of motherhood, saying, “Every day… there’s so much nonsense, whether it’s what they’re saying to you or the fact that there are unidentified smudges on every surface!”

Also, yes, that is a photo of Kristen’s child fanning her with a palm leaf on the beach. Parenting win.

5 Tyra Banks Is Shower Savvy

Tyra had a gorgeous baby through surrogacy in 2016 and experienced the same level of life-changing responsibility as any other parent. After struggling with infertility for years, Tyra was very ready to be a mother, but no one can actually be perfectly ready for that first baby. Scrambling for time, the new mama tweeted

“ Take a shower? Or: Feed the baby?”

While any new mom can relate to not always having time for a shower, Tyra’s #MomLife post got even more real. She followed it up, telling everyone,

“I didn't shower or feed the baby. Daddy fed him. I drank coffee. Now walking baby. No shower. #MomLife

Don’t worry Tyra, we won’t tell!

4  Amy Poehler’s Best Advice

The comedian and Parks and Recreation star Amy Poehler is bound to have hilarious stories about raising her kids, but her best parenting moments are actually in the advice she gives.

“Always remember your kid's name. Always remember where you put your kid. Don't let your kid drive until their feet can reach the pedals. Use the right size diapers...for yourself. And, when in doubt, make funny faces.”

Sometimes, stuff is just crazy. Amy wants you to have the basics down though, and her advice perfectly encapsulates the chaos of having a family. If you have your baby’s name memorized and you haven’t lost them, you’re off to a good start!

3 Molly Sims' Competitive Class

A model and a mother, Molly Sims is doing her best to raise her child, just like anyone else. But, nobody is perfect!

She admitted to skipping out on her son’s ‘tummy time’ during his early development but became hyperaware of her mistake quickly.

Her son’s cousin, who was only three weeks older, was standing and crawling much earlier than her own baby.

Self-confessedly very competitive, the model mama promised to herself to work overtime on tummy time, and get her son’s development back on track. Mommy and Me classes can bring out the competitiveness in any mother and can magnify mistakes, but thankfully Molly learned for the better from them!

2 Blake Lively Learning To Expect The Unexpected

Another celeb mom with a sense of humor, Blake Lively has two kids and is hilariously honest about the balancing act. She describes her life post-pregnancy, saying to the LA Times, “Having a baby is just living in the constant unexpected.” Sharing a glimpse into her private life raising first daughter James and second Inez, Blake got used to toddlers’ unpredictable moods and living with endless patience.

“You never know when you're gonna get pottied on or when you're gonna get a big smile or when that smile immediately turns into hysterics. It might be like living with [substance user],” the mother joked. Living with a new kid and all of their ups and downs definitely changes parents’ lives, and it’s great that Blake is dealing with it with humor!

1 Pink's Potty Mouth

So of course, most parents try not to use bad language in front of their children. No one wants their kid getting a timeout at daycare for using no-no words. But, it can be a pretty tough habit to break, as singer-songwriter Pink can attest to.

The famous mother shared during an Ellen appearance that her daughter has developed quite a potty mouth and that she’s totally to blame.

Any parent who accidentally drops a few word bombs can feel where she’s coming from.

Although not ideal, you have to forgive yourself and move on. Pink handled her daughter’s inherited vocabulary embellishment habit with comedy, calling her girl an “adorable little sailor.”
