Singer Kesha started the new year off by sharing a gorgeous makeup-free selfie on Instagram and Twitter with a caption revealing her new year's resolution as well. According to the Timber singer, her resolution for this year is to love herself just the way she is, and instead of covering her freckles up with makeup, she is going to let her freckles live. Kesha is getting so much love and appreciation in return from fans and followers.

Kesha who had her first hit as a featured artist on Flo Rida's number one track Right Round in 2009, which she followed up with her own album Animal, which featured hit song TiK ToK and We R Who We R. While pursuing her career as a singer, Kesha was also a songwriter for other major singers, such as Miley Cyrus and Britney Spears. Kesha has been very open about her struggles with her self image and was admitted to rehab for an eating disorder in 2014, where she wrote a lot of music resulting in the album Rainbow. She also released a documentary called Rainbow: The Film, about her stint in rehab, her battle with the eating disorder, and how the album came to be.
As reported by Cosmopolitan, the photo has already received over 13.000 retweets and 3.000 comments on Twitter, and more than 500.000 likes on Instagram, and fans are sharing their own freckle stories. Many of the 32-year-old singer's followers are also taking the opportunity to post their own makeup-free selfies in all their freckly glory, seemingly feeling empowered and encouraged by Kesha.
Some followers shared that they had suffered a lot from their freckles growing up, and had spent so much time and money on removing or covering them up. They said that wished they had had a role model like Kesha when they were younger since it would have helped them tremendously coping with being teased for their freckles.
