Kendall Jenner and Ben Simmons have taken an important step forward in their relationship – meeting the parents. Jenner was spotted at a 76ers game in Philadelphia last night seated next to the player’s mom. Although Jenner previously attended a game back in December at which Ben's mom Julie was also seated courtside, this time around seems to signify that the two have hit it off. The good vibes seemed to extend to the court as the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Houston Rockets 121 to 93.
Jenner, 23, and Simmons, 22, reportedly started dating in May 2018, though the couple seemed to have slowed things down by the end of the summer. Jenner was then said to be dating Anwar Hadid, a model and brother of Bella and Gigi Hadid, though that supposed relationship fizzled quickly. By November, Jenner had rekindled things with Simmons. In recent months, she has been spotted at several 76ers games and the couple have also shared flirtatious comments on Instagram.
In a recent Instagram exchange, Jenner posted a video of herself posing in a bikini. Simmons quickly commented, "Come here.”Jenner responded with a race car and gust emoji, confirming that the relationship is in fact healthy and moving forward. In another post, Simmons responded to a black and white portrait of Jenner with two drooling emojis.
A source recently told E! News that the couple have been making more of an effort to see each other lately, despite their busy careers. "Kendall really likes Ben and he has been keeping her attention," the insider added. "They try not to put stress or pressure on the relationship, but Kendall isn't actively seeing anyone else right now."
Simmons, 22, was born in Melbourne, Australia, to Dave and Julie Simmons. His father played basketball for Oklahoma City University before going pro with the Melbourne Tigers in Australia's National Basketball League in 1989. Simmons traveled to the US for high school, where he played basketball and was eventually recruited by Louisiana State University. He was eventually a number one pick in the 2016 NBA draft. Simmons has stated his intention to represent Australia at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Prior to Jenner, he dated Tinashe, a singer and actress.
Jenner has been more low-key than her sisters when it comes to publicizing her romantic relationships, telling Harper’s Bazaar, "I think it's something sacred. It's something between two people, and nobody else's opinion needs to be involved in it. People want to start drama. If I had a boyfriend, people are going to say all this stuff that's probably going to cause us to break up."
