American R&B singer/songwriter Kelela has been in the music business professionally since 2011, when she worked on and later released what would become her first mixtape, Cut 4 Me. Now almost eight years later, Kelela has garnered plenty of success for herself due to releasing even more music. This includes her debut full-length album back in 2017, Take Me Apart. Given the fact that she's become more famous, it's hardly surprising that she's been booked for more high profile gigs. Her most recent one also had her wearing quite the classy look.

As revealed by Vogue this past Wednesday, Kelela performed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, New York the previous Tuesday for the Chanel Métiers d'Art show. This event is produced by those behind the Coco Chanel brand to celebrate other companies that help the former make their designs a reality. It's a fancy event, no doubt- so Kelela had to step up her fashion game when performing for it. Oh, and did she ever.

Kelela- a singer more well known for wearing funkier, more experimental pieces from young designers- went with an outfit that had Chanel written all over it. As seen on the Instagram of New York City-based makeup artist Rai, Kelela had on a white tweed blazer and matching mini skirt, making it look super classy. But the singer's personal style managed to shine through with the help of her blazer being a tad slouchy, wearing short shorts underneath the skirt and topping off the outfit with a beautiful beret.

The entire outfit isn't just Classy with a capital C- it's the embodiment of the Chanel brand. It also screams all white everything, save for the touch of gold that's prevalent in small yet noticeable places. Despite this outfit clearly being a step outside of Kelela's fashionable comfort zone, it doesn't look as though it made her feel uncomfortable or out of place in any way. In fact, she could easily fit into the next Chanel fashion show that rolls around. It's very much obvious that despite opting for more adventurous clothing normally, Kelela can also pull off simpler pieces if need be.
