13 Years Later Julie Bowen Files For Divorce

Julie Bowen has filed for divorce from her husband after 13 years of marriage.

The Modern Family star has filed court documents to end her marriage to real estate investor and software engineer, Scott Phillips. This news comes a little over a week after news broke that the parents of three had decided to separate.

According to Entertainment Tonight, the actress filed divorce papers with Los Angeles Superior Court. The papers cite the usual Hollywood reason of irreconcilable differences and list the separation date as February 17, 2017.

Bowen is seeking joint physical and legal custody of the couples three boys, 10-year-old Oliver and 8-year-old twins John and Gustav. They are petitioning for dissolution of marriage with minor children. She is also asking the judge to not grant her 44-year old soon-to-be ex-husband spousal support.

Neither Bowen nor Phillips has commented on the divorce. Both have been quiet on social media lately, as the end of their marriage is making headlines. The rumor mill is abuzz wanting to know exactly what went wrong. However, inquiring minds are going to have to wait until one of them decides to speak out.

The couple tied the knot in a beautiful wedding in 2004. Although he was often spotted with her on the red carpet and at industry events, they did try to keep a relatively low profile. It is because of their desire for privacy, that it went unnoticed until the official announcement of their split that they had not been seen together publicly since the fall of 2016.

Julie Bowen has decided to end her marriage after 13 years. She has filed for divorce from Scott Phillips. Her Modern Family costars are showing their support for her by keeping quiet on the subject. If official papers had not been revealed to the media, these two may have been able to end their marriage under the radar. It appears everyone involved is looking to dissolve the marriage quietly.

Last year, at a public event, the 47-year old actress joked she and her husband were too tired to deal with divorce. Sadly, that no longer seems to be the case as she and Phillips are splitting up for good.
