There are some things in life that are certain - the changing of the seasons, the tides of the sea - and Chris Evans and Jenny Slate breaking up. The Captain America actor and Slate have called it quits before, but could this time be for real?

According to US Weekly, The New York Times revealed the latest split when profiling the 36-year-old actor. As well as describing his favorite books, Evans went on to say how difficult it was for him to learn to listen more and speak less. "The hardest thing to reconcile is that just because you have good intentions, doesn't mean it's your time to have a voice," he said.
The couple first started dating in 2016, making their red carpet debut at the premiere of the animated movie, The Secret Life of Pets in New York. In February of 2017, it was then reported that the pair had decided to amicably split, but Slate continued to talk highly of her ex-beau in the press. "He is a straight up 35-year-old man who wants to play board games. That's it. I was like 'I better not discount this, because this is purity." Over the course of the year, the two reconciled, being publically spotted out and about in October before spending the holiday season with one another.
Though he has been actively acting since the late 90's, Evan shot to fame after he was cast as the Human Torch in 2005's Fantastic Four and it's sequel, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Since then his roles have been prominent, with the actor being signed to appear in multiple films as Captain America. Slate is no stranger to success herself, having acted in Obvious Child, as well as being a cast member on the 2009/10 season of Saturday Night Live.
Only time will tell if this time the split is permanent. Watch this space.
