Oscar Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence has two big things going for her among others. Namely, an extremely successful acting career and a wonderful fiancé. She's been with art dealer Cooke Maroney since the summer of 2018 and engaged since this past February. Whenever they're spotted in public, the pair seems to be extremely happy together. It also appears as though they're getting ready to tie the knot sooner than later, too.
The engaged couple was seen leaving New York City's marriage bureau just this past Monday, making it evident that Lawrence and Maroney are preparing to get married in the near future. They weren't alone, though; they also had two security guards, a photographer and a friend in tow. The couple was dressed quite casually as they made their way to the marriage bureau for their marriage license. Paparazzi caught them going in and then leaving the building.
The photographer spotted with Lawrence and Maroney wasn't just any photographer either. His name is Mark Seliger, and he's a celebrity photographer who's well-known for shooting covers for GQ and Vanity Fair. Some of the celebrities who've been in front of his camera include (but aren't limited to) Bob Dylan, Bono, Gisele Bündchen- and yes, Lawrence too. In fact, Seliger had recently finished a prior photoshoot with Lawrence that he later showed off on his Instagram. Not only is Seliger a talented photographer, but he's also a good friend of Lawrence and wanted to photograph what was surely a special moment for her and her fiancé.
Not much else has been made public about the wedding itself. Considering the fact that Lawrence is notoriously private about her personal life, she and her fiancé have been successful in keeping those details under wraps. But because Maroney's parents own a popular wedding venue known as Vermont’s Oliver Hill Farm. So it's possible that the couple's wedding will be held there, but nothing has been confirmed.
One more thing we know is that Lawrence plans to take Maroney's last name upon getting married. She even confirmed this by saying, "I want to legally bind him to me forever and, fortunately, the paperwork exists for such a thing." Having said this, her stage name will continue to be Jennifer Lawrence after she and Maroney wed.
Despite what little we know about the couple's upcoming nuptials, we're excited for them to finally tie the knot. Let's hope that it happens sooner than later!
