YouTube makeup gurus Jeffree Star And James Charles kicked off the new year by throwing some serious shade at the competition. In a new video, Star and Charles take a flamethrower and a sledgehammer to products they hate, including those from former Star BFF and tattoo artist Kat Von D’s eponymous beauty brand.

The two beauty entrepreneurs, who are no strangers to controversy, opened up a whole new can of worms by dragging Huda Beauty, Fenty Beauty, Hot Topic and Beautyblender products. Kat Von D Beauty, launched in 2008, recently reformulated her products to be vegan. She has also been actively supporting charities, such as the Art of Elysium and Project Chimps through the sale of her products. Her apparent altruism, however, didn’t spare her from Star’s wrath.

The beef between Star and Von D can be traced back to 2016 when Von D claimed Star didn’t pay a friend of hers for the artwork he had created for Star’s brand. “I think as far as being an ethical company, it’s really wrong what Jeffree has done. I think he needs to pay BJ,” she said in a video posted online. She followed up her claims with an Instagram post in which she wrote, "The Jeffree that he is now is, like, this monster. This big, like, attention-seeking, fame-desiring, money-driven monster that I want no part of.”

Star responded to Von D on Twitter, writing, “She accused me of something that wasn’t true, so I told her to f*ck off, then blocked her number. Not that juicy of a story, sorry.” The tweet was followed by a series of back and forth messages in which they both accused each other of lying.

In one of her last messages, Von D said that her public shaming of Star had resulted in her friend BJ finally getting paid. Star, on the other hand, attempted to make amends but Von D didn’t respond. Despite extending an olive branch, Star eventually went back to slamming Von D after she wrote on Instagram that she was raising her child vegan and without vaccinations.

In the video Star and Charles uploaded, they end by smashing one of Von D’s products. "It was my last piece of Kat Von D makeup in my beauty room ... it's time to move on, baby," Star says. “Cause in 2019, we're vaccinating our kids."

Star and Charles have had numerous feuds in the past few years and seemingly spend as much time creating drama as they do on their product lines. Star has publicly blasted Kylie Jenner, Kim Kardashian and Laura Lee, while Charles has had run-ins with Ariana Grande, the kids featured in the horror film It and even Shawn Mendes, who many accused Charles of sexually harassing.
