After three years without new music, Janet Jackson is finally giving fans what they’ve been waiting for. The singer-songwriter announced on social media this weekend that she will be releasing a new single, “Made For Now,” with Daddy Yankee very soon.

On Sunday, Jackson revealed the single’s cover art on Instagram. The post was actually a video that began as a close-up of Jackson’s arm in a sleeve covered with beautiful beads and slowly zoomed out to show the full image of her sitting casually in a chair, looking onward. Along with the clever reveal was a caption that read, “From my lips…#MadeForNow with @daddyyankee 8/17.”

Jackson also headlined the 11th annual Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival in San Francisco on Sunday night, where she announced the release info to lucky fans in the audience. Along with the single’s release on August 17th, Jackson and Daddy Yankee will perform the song live for the first time on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon at 11:35 p.m. EST, according to Broadway World. The show will mark her first live performance on late-night television in 14 years.

On July 23rd and 24th, Jackson was seen shooting a music video for the single with Daddy Yankee in Brooklyn, New York. According to Billboard, the video was directed by Grammy Award-winning director Dave Meyers. It featured international dancers from Ghana, Nigeria, Grenada, Trinidad, and the U.S. The choreography appeared to be in Jackson’s traditional style. During the shoot, Jackson was spotted wearing several bright outfits that reflect the video’s island-inspired groove.

“Made For Now” will be Janet’s first single since “Dammn Baby” in May of 2015. The single peaked at number 8 on Billboard’s top Adult R&B Songs, her third song on the chart. Her last album, Unbreakable, hit number 1 on the Billboard 200 charts in the U.S.

Daddy Yankee, the Latin superstar and “Despacito” rapper, released his own single and music video with Kim Viera earlier this summer, titled “Como.” The video, according to Refinery29, was meant to celebrate Puerto Rico’s resilience after the devastation of Hurricane Maria.

“Made For Now” is available to pre-order on iTunes and pre-save on Spotify.
