Miley Cyrus' fans are convinced that the songstress is sending Liam Hemsworth a, not so, hidden message in her latest musical collaboration with Ariana Grande and Lana Del Rey. The song, which is called Don't Call Me Angel premiered this Friday the 13th, and both Miley and Ariana had teased the intro on their Instagram pages creating quite the hype. Don't Call Me Angel is fittingly one of the songs for the upcoming movie Charlie's Angels, where Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska are taking over the rolls that were previously famously played by Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu, and Drew Barrymore.
Don't Call Me Angel is about reclaiming the nickname 'angel', and while the word obviously refers to the 'angels' in the movie, some people believe it is also a way for Miley to shade er ex Liam Hemsworth. The former couple split up in August after having been married for seven months and dating on and off since 2009 - including two engagements. Liam often referred to Miley as his 'angel', both on several of his Instagram captions as well as in an acceptance speech earlier this year.
As reported by ET Online, in the music video, the Hannah Montana star can also be seen in a boxing ring where she is beating up a guy sitting tied to a chair. Many fans reacted to the guy's looks and his strong resemblance to Liam, but perhaps that is just a coincidence.
The Wrecking Ball singer also recently dropped her breakup anthem Slide Away, which is also said to be referencing Liam and their life together, but perhaps Miley had more to say on the matter. While she has been spotted repeatedly with rumored new fling Kaitlynn Carter, who happens to be Brody Jenner's ex-girlfriend, and seems to have moved on already, this does appear to be another dig at Liam who filed for divorce on August 21.
