A brand new hair color has emerged on the social media trending scene and its hue looks to be inspired from one of Apple's custom tech colors.
Chances are high that if you're a girly girl and an Apple fan, you have at least a device or two in your bag that bears the color that Apple calls "rose gold" - a gold color blended with a chrome-colored pastel pink rose shade. Apple has released computers, iPads, iPhones and their own line of smartwatches all with this color and of course, the cases to match.
If you're a rose gold kind of gal and all of the devices and matching cases just aren't enough for you, you can take your color love to the next level by giving your tresses a rose gold treatment.
According to Allure, Pravana Collective's lead colorist Presley Poe has recently created a hair color that she calls "buttered rose gold." This unique shade will definitely cause extra attention to be tossed your way but at the same time, it's mellow enough for everyday life. The even better news for fans of this hue is that color specialist Poe has said that buttered rose gold hair can work for people of varying skin tones as long as the unique color is toned correctly.
“My inspiration for color palettes is mainly derived from the energy of my clients and what chemistry will allow me to do,” Poe told Allure. “So much in my art is an investment into which color I think best suits my clients' personal tones, tastes, and style.”
The colorist went on to explain that to create buttered rose gold for the first time, she started by blending the current fade that her client had which was a bright pink color by using a pink melt at the base in order to ensure that the final result was more dense at the base rather than at the ends. Poe said that this "blurring technique" will help the final buttered rose gold color to look softer and as a bonus for the client, will require less maintenance. We're all for that!
It's recommended that hair is pre-lightened before the buttered rose gold affect is applied. Poe also suggests that after the color has been set, buttered rose gold-haired people should use only cold water when washing their hair with sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner.
If shampooing and conditioning can be limited to only when necessary and styling with heat can be severely limited or cut out entirely, this buttery rosy gold color will last much longer with vibrancy and brilliance.
