When Huda Kattan and her sister Mona launched the brand Huda Beauty, they essentially took over the beauty world and built their own cosmetics empire, and now, they’re moving into the world of perfumes and releasing their first line of fragrances under the name "Kayali". The brand new Kayali fragrances went on sale on December 2nd at Sephora.

Huda says that Mona was actually the one who came up with the idea of creating a fragrance line. They decided to go with a different style and marketing strategy for the fragrance line, which is why Kayali will be its own sub-brand under Huda Beauty.

The name Kayali means “my imagination” in Arabic, which reflects the sister’s heritage. Their parents are from Iraq, and both of them spent several years in Dubai growing up. Eventually, they both settled down in Dubai, and today, their company is based out of Dubai. The packaging is also designed to resemble popular styles of jewelry in the Middle East.

So, what will be included in the very first Kayali collection? The line will include four different fragrances: Vanilla, Citrus, Musk, and Elixir. Each scent is sold separately, and while they can all be worn alone, Huda and Mona recommended layering your favorites. When it comes to layering fragrances, it is best to start with the strongest scent first, and then finish with the lightest scent.

How do the Kattan sisters like to wear the Kayali fragrances? They recommend starting with Musk, then adding a spritz of Vanilla, and finishing it all off with Elixir. But any of these fragrances can be combined to create your perfect signature scent.

These fragrances are definitely going to be a hot commodity this holiday season, but they don’t come cheap. Each fragrance is currently on sale for $118. But if you want to splurge on something special this holiday season, why not pick up something from Kayali? A little bit of these fragrances goes a long way.

The Kattan sisters are so enthusiastic about creating new fragrances that they are already working on Kayali Collection 02. In fact, they have also hinted that they will be branching out into other areas of the beauty world in the future—skincare, perhaps?
