It’s pretty commonplace for wrestlers to date each other— just like in other line of work, coworkers spend a lot of time together, so it’s not that surprising when they end up together. But it’s a little bigger in the WWE when every star is showcased to the world via TV, social media, and advertisements. These are big-name celebrities here getting hitched, engaged, dating, and having babies.
There is perhaps no bigger couple in the WWE than Stephanie McMahon and Triple H—the daughter to the Man himself, Vince, and Hunter Hearst Helmsley, one of the biggest names in wrestling history. They are the WWE’s power couple, and pretty much have a stranglehold on WWE operations at this point.
But there are other couples that are just as interesting, with big plans in the works, going into 2020. Here are the statuses of 20 WWE couples in 2019.
20 Lana & Rusev – On The Ropes
This initial pairing apparently made Vince McMahon quite angry, because he didn’t believe that someone like the Bulgarian brute was right for one of his favorite female talents, Lana. But at this point, they’ve been together since 2016, and it seems that their marriage is strong. The only thing that might put a kink in it would be if Lana left WWE in 2019, which many people expected, but doesn’t seem likely to happen this late in the year.
19 Charlotte Flair & Andrade Almas – Rumored Engaged
Early in 2019, news surfaced about Charlotte Flair and Andrade Almas (aka Cien) dating, from behind the scenes. Charlotte has been known to date fellow wrestlers in the industry, so this wasn’t that surprising. It drew a lot of interest, because Flair is such a big name in the industry— so much so that many people have rumored that the two are engaged, though mum’s the word between the couple themselves.
18 Sonya Deville & Arianna Johnson – Back Together
The first publicly lesbian couple in the WWE belongs to Arianna Johnson and Sonya Deville (who was the first openly gay wrestler in the WWE). It was reported that Deville was dating Seth Rollins’ ex before moving on to Arianna. Now, the couple are very public about the fun they’re having in their relationship, after breaking up for a while, as evidenced by their many Instagram photos together. They’ve broken up in the past before, though, so we’ll see if it lasts.
17 Mike “The Miz” Mizanin & Maryse – Just Had Second Baby
Back in September, Mike “The Miz” Mizanin and Maryse became parents to their second child, Madison Jade. They already had a 17-month-old named Monroe Sky before that, so it seems that everything is well in the Miz household. The WWE power couple captioned a screenshot of their newborn’s tiny feet, then the Miz & Mrs. reality stars announced their bundle of joy as a girl at a gender reveal party in May.
16 Maria Kanellis & Mike Bennett – Had First Baby
Maria Kanellis originally made her way to the WWE through the annual Diva Search, and became known as a ditzy backstage interviewer for years. Then she joined the ring and met her future husband, Mike Bennett, while she worked for Impact Wrestling. They married in 2014, and they welcomed their first child, a daughter named Fredrica Moon, into the world back in 2018. Both stars may be looking to be released from the WWE.
15 Becky Lynch & Seth Rollins – Engaged
Back in August, one of the WWE’s hottest couples got engaged, officially, via an Instagram post made on Becky Lynch’s account which was later shared by TMZ and WWE.com. Other WWE stars like Trish Stratus, Sheamus, and Nikki Bella all congratulated Becky’s engagement to star Seth Rollins, with Stratus saying, “Omgosh!!! Congrats!! Soul friggin mates!! Here’s to living your best life with the love of your life!” This comes after Becky’s relationship with Jeff Dye and, formerly, Luke Sanders.
14 Nikki Cross & Killian Dain – Married
At the beginning of this year, superstars Nikki Cross and Killian Dain surprised everyone by announcing that they had gotten married, via Twitter. They had been together as a couple for nearly 11 years before tying the knot, but as Killian Dain posted (with a photo of Cross wearing a wedding ring), “Only took us 10 and a half years but when it’s right, it’s right. I love you @NikkiCrossWWE.” They both signed with the WWE in 2016, and are veritable superstars now.
13 Sarah Logan & Raymond Rowe – Married
Right around the same time as Nikki Cross and Killian Dain were getting married in January of this year, so too were Sarah Logan and Raymond Rowe, who now wrestles by the name of Erik, the Viking. He’s known for his tag team The Viking Raiders, together with partner Hanson (or War Machine, as they’re known in Ring of Honor). Raymond threw an entire Viking-themed wedding for the pair, complete with cosplays, rituals, and more.
12 Aleister Black & Zelina Vega – Married
Late in 2018, pro wrestlers Aleister Black and Zelina Vega tied the knot, as first reported by WrestlingInc. The superstars didn’t make clear where or how the nuptials took place, only that it happened. They had done a great job of keeping their relationship a secret up until that point (Aleister only first appeared on Zelina’s Instagram a week before the marriage, in a training video). Fans were struck silly at the announcement, since they were all blindsided by the news.
11 Tye Dillinger & Peyton Royce – Married
Tye Dillinger, aka Shawn Spears, aka Ron Arneill, aka Gavin Spears, was released from the WWE in 2009 (as Shawn Spears), but then came back in 2013 as Tye Dillinger. He was promoted to the main roster in 2017, before being recently released again in 2019 while his fiancée was still employed by the company. Dillinger signed with the newly founded All Elite Wrestling. The couple had been dating for three years, in somewhat secrecy, before getting married in August of this year.
10 Braun Strowman & Kamilla Kaine – Dating
Braun Strowman is certainly a powerhouses in the WWE, and one of the biggest names (as well as one of the biggest people). He kept his relationship with Kamilla Kaine on the down low for quite a while, but photos of them together backstage surfaced, and then it was all out in the open. Kaine currently works in the WWE, but worked for the indie circuit for years.
9 Bray Wyatt & JoJo Offerman – Expecting A Child
Details about the relationship between Bray Wyatt and JoJo Offerman have been kept under wraps, but on March 27, 2019, Offerman announced via Instagram that she was pregnant and was expecting her first child to be delivered in June. As she said in the post, “I’m so excited to announce baby Knash, coming this June!” Since that announcement, the two WWE stars’ relationship has been very public.
8 Buddy Murphy & Alexa Bliss – Split Up
Alexa Bliss is one of the biggest names in female wrestling, whereas her former partner Buddy Murphy is not. During an episode of Total Divas, Jax questioned whether Bliss really wanted to marry Murphy or not, and she didn’t seem to be too sure. Not good when the two were engaged! Earlier this year, news broke that the couple had split, amidst a horrible break-up, and that they’d actually been split up for a few months. Bliss is still a huge fan of Murphy’s, though, reportedly.
7 Triple H & Stephanie McMahon – Still Married
The original WWE power couple, and still by far the most powerful in the organization, is undoubtedly Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. Nothing has really changed about their relationship— they still show up to events together, in each other’s arms, and seem happy— but they’re such a huge part of WWE coupledom that we knew fans would want to know what’s going on with them. As it turns out, nothing new! They’re still the busiest stars in the company, with Stephanie as the commissioner of Monday Night Raw, and Triple H the head of NXT TV.
6 Dean Ambrose & Renee Young – Still Married
One of the most talked-about couples in WWE at the moment is Renee Young and Dean Ambrose, who confirmed back in 2013 that they were seeing each other. It led to a lot of backlash from the WWE folks, since Ambrose was a member of The Shield at the time. They married in secret at 1 a.m. in their backyard in Las Vegas, back in 2017. Dean Ambrose recently exited WWE.
5 Keith Lee & Mia Yim – Dating
Keith Lee and Mia Yim are two of WWE’s freshest, newest faces. Both of the new signings were looking to make an impact on the NXT roster before making the jump to the big leagues. The couple has been steadily dating for a while now, and make no secret about it—they update their fans on their relationship often, via social media. Keith Lee is expected to be a huge name in the WWE in the years to come.
4 Roderick Strong & Marina Shafir – Married
Roderick Strong was a huge part of the Undisputed Era’s push to the top of NXT, while he’s also lived an interesting personal life by dating Marina Shafir, ever since she was signed to NXT. They have a child together, born in April 2017, and were married in November 2018, after being engaged for more than three years. Shafir has been pushing the NXT Women’s Division for a while now.
3 Montez Ford & Bianca Belair – Married
Speaking of NXT’s Women’s Division, Bianca Belair is one of the heaviest hitters in the brand, and has been for years, though she lost the Championship Title match to belt-holder Shayna Baszler early this year. She and Montez Ford were already a couple before they were both signed to the WWE, and they managed to go on a honeymoon and take time away from the WWE after they were married last year.
2 Daniel Bryan & Brie Bella – Trying For Second Child
Probably the most talked-about and popular couple in the WWE belongs to Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella— both huge names in their respective brands. They’re both stars of Total Divas and Total Bellas, and they’ve been together since 2011, but weren’t able to confirm that to the world until Total Divas began in 2013. Their first child, Birdie Joe, was born in 2017, has become the focus of many Total Bellas episodes, and they’re reportedly excited to be trying for their second baby now.
1 John Cena & Nikki Bella – Split Up
This is old news to many, ever since John Cena was spotted on a romantic stroll with a woman in Vancouver, but it still hurts many WWE fans to know that John Cena and Nikki Bella split up. What was once the most popular relationship in wrestling hit a rocky road after the two had been together since 2012. Cena proposed to Nikki after they defeated The Miz and Maryse at WrestleMania 33, but it never ended up happening. This would’ve been Cena’s second marriage.
